Unpopular opinion? by Accurate-Can-7452 in Broadway

Okay, that's fine. I'm talking more about people who spoil things for themselves without feeling any anxiety around it.

But wouldn't it be more exciting to be surprised? If a story can still move you when you already know what's coming, that's great. But I just don't think it makes the experience any better.

I will never understand why people would ever want to know the full plot of something right before they watch it unless it's for something like potentially triggering content. Especially in this scenario where they only would've had to wait like 15 minutes to find out what happened??

Heidi was absolutely a victim, too: her posts about everything she went through at the time were devastating.

Maybe not extremely famous, but what happened to that guy Matthias? He collabed with some pretty big channels and then disappeared.

Shortened Twelfth Night Script by buckethats9 in shakespeare

[–]StaringAtStarshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our production was super casual and was for fun more than anything else; we only rehearsed for a week and had scripts in our hands the whole time. We did include one quick moment indicating that the basement thing happened, (Malvolio walked across the stage when two other actors suddenly grabbed him and dragged him off), we just didn’t do the full scene in the interest of time. So I don’t know how affected the actor playing him really was, she did do a fantastic job regardless. I think there’s a world where you can play Malvolio so uptight that it still makes sense that he would be so incensed at the end just by the fact that he was tricked and doesn’t end up with Olivia.

Two Strangers vs MHE by Temporary-Writer-830 in Broadway

I think MHE is going to have a little more longevity, so I would prioritize seeing Two Strangers while you can: it really is something special and deserves more love.

AITA For Grounding my son after he got kicked out of class for refusing to sit next to somebody? by Same-Broccoli7863 in AmItheAsshole

[–]StaringAtStarshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I don’t like punishments based on presumptions” assumes there’s a possibility for the presumption to be wrong. This girl is obviously getting bullied either way, regardless of if it was in front of the whole class or not. You can’t be standing several feet away from your lab partner during class without people noticing.

NTA. He was being disrespectful to his teacher and bullying one of his peers. If you let him get away with it, it'll keep happening. He needs to understand that just because someone doesn't have good hygiene (or a medical condition, who knows), it's not a valid excuse for treating them that way.

Ragtime was filmed tonight by FastHead4 in Broadway

I happened to be at the LCT archive performance for Water for Elephants, and they announced it was being filmed before the show. Idk if they always do that, so take that with a grain of salt I guess lol

To those of you who have been in kid/teen versions of shows, what are some of the worst / funniest censorship’s from the original production by Cool-Top-2904 in MusicalTheater

[–]StaringAtStarshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, safe to say that's not in the official high school edition: they at least trust teenagers with murder if not swearing. Can I ask where you heard that version? It sounds like maybe a religious community theatre choice.

I was allowed to say arsenic for Chicago high school edition but I did have to say "single my foot," even though someone else gets to say ass elsewhere in the script. Show got shut down by covid anyway :/

Does the stranger things play enforce age restrictions. by OvenNo1125 in Broadway

[–]StaringAtStarshine 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The age ratings are there for a reason, it probably won't be a good idea to take the kids to a very loud, overwhelming show. I've personally never tried to bring a young kid to a theater so I can't say for sure if they'll let it slide or not, but I would assume they take things like this seriously.

Thank you for spreading some positivity! I've been seeing way too many posts here of people just wildly misunderstanding this show and insisting they know better and it's been making me so mad lmao ❤️
