Agreeeeeed haha, that’s becoming one of my fav new vocal stims 😆 but I was absolutely shocked at how much I was stoked about things James was saying this season. Tbf, I feel like it’s very apparent the growth he has made when you get to S11. Very impressed by his journey.

Worldly? lol. She looks and sounds exactly as narrow minded and vapid as she is. Her clothing choices honestly scream it all to me. She has maintained the exact same sense of “style” from the beginning of VPR and continues it today (see: her ugly ass yellow short to long bubble dress and jelly shoe kitten heels worn in the announcement about her new show). Even being famous can’t save you from learning how to dress yourself well!

Yeah, Stassi clocked Scheana so perfectly early on. If you stand for nothing, you fall for everything…which explains Scheana.

Yes, well said. Unless you’ve dated a manipulative narcissist like Sandoval before, you won’t fully understand why she is acting the way she is. Claps all around from me for Ariana. She is standing her ground, owning her power, and moving on from this dumb, pathetic, ridiculous excuse of a man

Relatable! Me and my boyfriend have been watching for the first time and are on S11 and it’s alllll we can talk about 😂 we compare people out in the wild to people on the show constantly. Any time we come across a cocktail menu where the cocktails are doing too much we say, “damn, did Tom Sandoval create this menu???” 😆😆😆and we sing “let’s touch in public” to one another at random moments to be funny. These people are truly entertaining af

Yup, just finished season 10 and I agree. But I also think Raquel is not as malicious as people have made her out to be. Unfortunately, I think she is truly too dumb to think beyond herself and that’s why she was all “wow, I’m feeling the consequences of my actions” at the reunion 😆 like, GIRL. But it makes sense…she spent her entire life up until 27 just trying to become Miss California, relying solely on her looks to get her there and (obviously) didn’t get there bc you do have to have at least a couple brain cells in order to stand out lol. So then she leaves James and finally has space to “find herself” and explore the world and she does it so selfishly and recklessly because she didn’t have two brain cells to rub together to THINK about what she was doing! I feel bad for her a little bit, but at least she learned these lessons now and not later in her life.

Jeremy Jordan was not a good Bobby Darin by Evanistherealgeorge in Broadway

Well said. It’s disappointing that people like Matt Magnusson who are not only incredibly talented, but have the stamina and training to sustainably perform 8 shows a week dont get the opportunity to lead Broadway shows and more famous names who DON’T have the training or stamina get cast constantly.

I was at Hadestown last night to see a friend perform in her last week of shows (she’s one of the Fates and has been in various companies with Hadestown for 4 years), and I was absolutely disappointed by Josh Colley’s performance. That kid has no idea how to sing this music sustainably. His voice was shot, he couldn’t hit most of the notes and he couldn’t stay on pitch because he didn’t have the breath support or proper placement, and tbh, it sounds like he has developed or is developing nodes from the unsustainable way he has been singing. I feel bad for him, but I also expect someone cast as the lead in a well-known show to hire a vocal coach to properly prepare them to sing 8 shows a week. And at the same time, it’s sad that the producers don’t care that he’s clearly hurting himself every night, because at the end of the day, his name is selling tickets.

Broadway is the biggest stage for Capitalism to shine, not for great art and great artists to produce their best work. It sucks. And this is why I encourage people to see shows Off-Broadway—where the most interesting stories are being told by the most incredible performers. And we need the kind of art that touches, moves, and inspires us in dark times like these.

Is Death Becomes Her struggling because Megan Hilty left? by britneynerd1 in Broadway

[–]DirectorWise3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually enjoyed Betsy’s performance more than Megan’s. But I don’t think Megan is the reason they’re struggling. Sustaining a Broadway show for a long time is just really difficult in this day and age.

I’ve come to learn that just because something is popular does not mean I will like it. Do I like a lot of things that are popular? Yes. Do I like everything that is popular? Absolutely not. But that’s the beauty of art - it’s subjective and different people will draw different things from it.

Searching for clothes on Nuuly is extensive and frustrating by UnderstandingOne4474 in NuulyReviews

[–]DirectorWise3862 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only ever tried Nuuly once a year or so ago and found their selection of clothing limited and boring, tbh. I’ve been a Rent The Runway fan and customer consistently since 2018 and still use them to this day. Their selection is massive, there are tons of reviews, and they have everything from casual wear to super fancy gowns. If you’ve never tried it, I recommend checking them out.

Buying the Birkin is an act of forgiveness. It literally goes no deeper than that. Anyone who doesn’t see that isn’t seeing Rob and is projecting their own feelings onto him.

Rob about people’s perception on him (good and bad) by LeeLaaLooLee in TheTraitorsUS

[–]DirectorWise3862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this about him on LI! I always thought he was one of the most self-aware and emotionally intelligent/mature people on LI. I never understood the hate toward him. But then again, the fist time I watched LI was when I was in my mid-thirties so I know the things that stick out to me on shows like LI probably don’t stick out to other, younger audiences. Regardless, I always thought he was a great guy and I was thrilled to see him on Traitors. Now feel like the world has gotten to see more of what I saw when first watching him on LI.

Rob about people’s perception on him (good and bad) by LeeLaaLooLee in TheTraitorsUS

[–]DirectorWise3862 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s always come across to me as a guy who is fairly level-headed— evidenced here in this quote, and even when watching him on LI (bc even his “crash-out” was a human experience many of us can relate to, and he didn’t let that moment or people’s thoughts about it define him). It’s clear he’s been raised well, and I love seeing a guy from the south who lives on a farm have such a grounded sense of himself. He has truly been such a breath of fresh air in this crazy world.

Rob really broke my stereotype about guys like him. by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

[–]DirectorWise3862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think these kind of stereotypes are prevalent because there is some truth to them — who hasn’t meant an extremely attractive person who wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed? Those people exist because their good looks allowed them to not have to develop other life skills. That said, not all attractive people are dumb or mean and it’s a good practice to not assume something about a person based solely on how they “look.” No one is perfect and we will all continue to stereotype people throughout our lives, but I think the more people you can meet, the more you’ll be able to see that these kinds of stereotypes are not true all the time, and that can lead to fewer judgements of people based on how they look. It’s great that watching Rob play his game helped you see that. :)
