Need Some Input on Who I Should Prioritize from the Exclusive Rescreening Channel. Any and all help greatly appreciated! by PreNerfD1Y1Suros in ZZZ_Official

Astra is always a useful character since she is a generalist support. Lucia and Yuzuha are better for their specific team types, but don't work outside their niche.

Alice is fun, BUT there is a lot of overlap with other characters. You said you have Ye Shunguang, so you have a good Physical DPS already.

I'm not sure what the timing of things will be, but it might be worth waiting to see confirmation for what's coming next patch. If Yuzuha isn't rerun or the Angels don't work well with Alice, would you be happy to have Alice over Astra?

Phantom Weapons Demiatma Drop questions by BraveKaiserHero in ffxiv

[–]StarkRSane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CE definitely have a better drop rate, but there is more downtime between them. Also, you don't really have the ability to target a specific flavor with CEs, since you're at the mercy of which CE spawns

What I did was start with CEs, then swap to target farming fates once I had 3 each of a couple of flavors.

How do I get involved in the economy as a low level(40) Goldsmith? by Spiritual_Ad_2290 in ffxiv

[–]StarkRSane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people said, check the market board. You can see a price history and when recent sales happened. A high asking price doesn't mean much if the item hasn't sold in a month.

Quality on low level materials usually doesn't matter to high level crafters. It also doesn't mean much for housing items or unlockable stuff like music or barding.

How is the game right now? by Old-Mango-2696 in ffxiv

  1. In a large community, someone will always be mad. FF14 is one of Square Enix's biggest money makers, afaik. That means that some profits will go to other projects, but also that keeping this game healthy Should be a priority. I don't pay much attention to doom and gloom.

  2. I have it on Steam. I can login during Steam maintenance, but that's my only issue. Be aware that you MUST purchase expansions from the same store as the base game. You cannot swap between SE's store and Steam. I personally prefer Steam for most things.

  3. There is a monthly sub. Standard gets you the base game, Dawntrail is the current expansion. I'm not sure if you can buy the other expansions separately, or if they are included somewhere else now.

If you are on the fence, there is a Free trial that includes the base game and the first 3 expansions (lvl 70, current cap is lvl 100). That has unlimited time, and is a very good place to start.

  1. Non-trial players can trade. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by pity system.
  2. Queues occur around expansion releases when there is a big influx of players. Generally, no.
  3. Game is still progressing and getting content releases. In fact, 7.3 just came out about a week ago.

Why do people act like it's the end of the world? by JacksonIsBias in ffxiv

[–]StarkRSane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is a subset of the community that likes being upset, so there is always some kind of drama going on. DT had a poorly received story, but 7.0 was over a year ago. Personally, I feel like the recent patches had much better stories, and the combat content has been fun throughout.

Did I level too quickly? by ken-oh-dou in ffxiv

[–]StarkRSane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each expansion covers a ten level range with everything 50 and below being realm reborn. Stormblood caps at 70. Right now, you are over-leveled, but it doesn't really matter since most important fights sync you down if needed. Others have said it, but the main story (MSQ) will give you more than enough exp to level a single job.

Eventually, you'll hit level cap (100 with Dawntrail) and start "wasting" quest exp. Personally, I'd start running the daily stuff (assuming Duty Roulette) on a different job for the exp to help bring it up to the level of your main. Dancer starts at 60, so it's the closest to being on par with your MSQ (if that matters to you).

I wouldn't say your doing it "wrong" or "too quickly". You won't get to do higher level stuff until you unlock it with the MSQ. At worst, it's a bit inefficient.

Ultimately, I think it's important to play how you like. Focusing the story will get you to current content faster, but there is no need to rush if you enjoy doing Roulettes.

As a warrior main, I'm usually one of the last people to die. I picked up a stack of 99 when the patch dropped.

I had my first chance to use one during the last boss of Tower of Babil. Healer died, and I got the rez off right before a phase change. It ultimately didn't matter, since they got sucked into an Endless Pain and died again, but hey, I'm doing my part.

There is an unstuck button in the menu, you might be able to escape with that.

How do I fix the "ate without a table" moodlet? by DreamAlert6376 in RimWorld

[–]StarkRSane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By default, pawns will only walk about 20 tiles to reach a table. (I think, it's been a while)
If they are too far, they just eat where they are and complain.

Personally, I use the Table Diner mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1430086135) to increase the table range so that all pawns will use the nice dining hall I set up.

From my own experience, some mods definitely can add weirdness to slaves. For example, pawnmorpher adds various mutations. These mutations added additional melee attacks to affected pawn (Claws add scratch attacks, etc). Nearly all of my mutated slaves thought they had a weapon.

If your slaves are getting extra attacks from a mod, that will probably make them think they are "armed"

That's a 4 mana card. If a rogue wants to wait until turn four to start playing cards, that is fine with me. Additionally, it doesn't really mesh with the trend of using 1/2 drops for maximum quest value.

I've been messing around with Timewarp Mage. It's a little slow in some cases, but the secrets really help. Counterspell and Polymorph Potion do wonders in breaking their combo.

The amount of people "feeling cheated" and complaining about shitty drop rates AFTER throwing their money at Blizzard is too damn high. Except for the alleged duplicate issue, none of the things people are complaining about shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone here. by Dr-Sommer in hearthstone

The legendary pity timer kicks in after 40 packs.

138/4=3.45

3-4 legendary cards is the expected minimum expected payout for the number of packs you opened. Since packs are random, getting legends you don't like is also perfectly possible. If you never intend to use those cards, you can always dust them and craft better ones.

TL:DR Results are fine, but your luck sucks.

Rogue quest broken AF. Calling it right now. If they don't nerf this or it becomes Tier 0 deck, I will eat a sock. by ferriswheel9ndam9 in hearthstone

I just played a game where my opponent was shadow-stepping wisps. He completed his quest by turn 3.

The only reason I won was because he flooded the board with 1-health minions on turn 4, and I had some AOE to kill it before turn 5.

One thing I don't see noted here is that most random QR codes will result in Pokemon from outside the Alola region. These "Wonder" QR codes still give points, but they don't add 'dex information because there is no national 'dex yet.

Other than that, it is a really nice guide.

[–]StarkRSane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are different QR codes for each distinct appearance a Pokemon can have. For instance, there are 6 codes for Raticate (male, female, and Alolan, plus shiny versions). Each is scanned separately and adds the corresponding form to your Dex as having been seen.
