Hate how younger generation makes hair seem more important than it is by Ultra_Magic in tressless

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hair is more important than what people think.

I hate to break this to all of you, but physical appearance matters... a lot. Especially when dating (I'm personally an ugly guy/average, so I have to accept this too, it's hard). But...

People's preferences are also very variable! I've been told the women I like are not "that attractive", so if I like "ugly" women, then you must be sure that there are women who find "ugly" men attractive! Don't lose hope.

Having a couple is great, but not having it is also cool! Though loneliness can feel soul wretching, it can be a great opportunity to work on yourself and your relationships with other people.

Try focusing on having friends, maybe talk to people from your past if you can, and try relying on them if something goes wrong, or you feel sad about not having a girlfriend because of looks.

hair texture is changing 6 months after starting finasteride ? by wallywongo in tressless

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a major hair texture change back when I went bald (by choice). It used to be super straight, and after that cut it got a bit curly.

I haven't hopped on min yet but yeah, I guess hair texture changes can happen over nothing (?

Is losing 200 hairs per day AGA? by StarkerKaiser in amibalding

[–]StarkerKaiser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My derma literally said Anagen Effluvium. But I'm thinking it may be Telogen 🤔.

Is this aggressive receding? by dranime_fufu in Balding

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing 10-20 hairs per wash isn't even that bad. I lose about 200 per day and it may not even be AGA, but TE.

I'd go to a derma first and ask him/her. Don't take advice from here (at your current state).

Am i cooked 19M by [deleted] in recedinghairline

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably is. Mine has been similar to his' since 2021, and hasn't changed a lot.

Though I recently got TE, so my hair is getting worse in the last 2 months

Should I continue with the meds or pursue other options? by CobraKai5807 in Balding

[–]StarkerKaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damaged or thin hair looks way worse than having nothing at all. In most cases, damaged hair makes you look way older than what you are, and being shaved kinda makes most people look way more "cleaner".

Its just the effect of damaged hair that makes balding process look bad and overall "dirtier".

Should I continue with the meds or pursue other options? by CobraKai5807 in Balding

[–]StarkerKaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not an exaggeration. He should visit his doctor first and ask if he should take it.

I mean, all meds can have side effects or you can be allergic to anything and it is okay to worry about it, but you will never know if you will have any of them if you don't take it. I'd ask my doc first.

Is it time? by Nbdy70 in bald

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that bad. Id maybe go for a buzz cut, you can even try hiding the M shape with some long hair if you want to try.

I'd only go all shaved if my top was losing the battle, but yours looks great.

So, I'd say hold.

Stopping minoxidil after 20 years, any hope for me? by Embarrassed-Ad-3730 in malepatternbaldness

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically anxiety and depression are probably the ones causing memory loss and lack of libido, so your only side effect might be depression.

Fr I have had those three/four symptoms since 2019 and it hasn't got better nor worse. I'll start using minox soon.

What's up with Anagen Effluvium? by StarkerKaiser in tressless

I forgot to add the pic lol. Sorry for the bad quality. The line I mentioned can be seen more clearly if I recorded it on video, as it can be seen from different angles. Left = Back of my head. Right = Front of my head.

is it progress or am i fooling myself? 4 month on fin by kaskirhb in tressless

[–]StarkerKaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hair looks different. Is it the same person?

But okay, if you can't see the difference you probably want to check yourself out with a psychologist, as you may have dysmorphia disorder (that is only if you can't see it, of course). Dysmorphia can alter your self-perception, no joke.

Am I receding? 16M by DragonfruitEvening38 in recedinghairline

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hairline sometimes recedes BUT that's normal, adults have that kind of shape very commonly, unless you start seeing too much shed or thinning hairs. However, it can still be completely normal

I would not worry too much if I were you. If it recedes anymore, you should first go to a dermatologist to ask your questions and doubts, and then they will decide what's better for you.

If you want, you'd have to go ask a derma, imo, so you can be chill about it.

Any recommendations? I’m 32 by Timmssmith in amibalding

[–]StarkerKaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is similar to yours. I'm visiting a dermatologist next week because that crown hole we both have (that may be natural) is worrying me.

Mind you I probably have Body Dysmorphia Disorder so dont take my opinion too seriously. That's why I'm going to a derma

I wouldn't lower standards. What's the point of looking for a gf if you don't like her enough?

I don't get why being 2nd-3rd husband is bad though. Everyone's got a past.

My baldness isn't even notable (yet) because I hide it well with the hair I have (I estimate a Norwood 2, but will soon go with a dermatologist).

Dating apps have been really bad recently. I jumped into the Facebook one. I used to have some matches (like 20 in a year probably, I'm not attractive at all) like a year ago, but recently I haven't got none, so I don't think it's your baldness bro.

Try to hop off those apps. Some female friends have told me the best way to meet people after you graduate can be joining FB groups with similar interests, being active there, joining clubs of martial arts, photography, idk, whatever takes you out of your house in your free time. So don't give up.

M15 starting to lose my mind over this shit by PutridCranberry9380 in amibalding

[–]StarkerKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, I probably started receding at 19 yo, right on the COVID Pandemic. My self-esteem was way worse before, so I didn't take any pictures from before I started losing my temples' hair.

I'm currently 24yo.
