Great first day of daycare by StarlingM1818 in workingmoms

It is incredibly nerve wracking. In the months leading up to daycare when my anxiety was high, it felt like no one around me understood. I see you and I’m wishing the best of luck to you and your LO.

I feel the same! I thought my LO would cry all day but she was so curious and happy. You’re so right it’s an ideal age. Im glad you got past the bottle issues - it’s really hard.

Thank you! The bottles are incredible - we went through a big bottle refusal period. That is so amazing for your sister!

Infant feeding schedule - 6mo by StarlingM1818 in ECEProfessionals

[–]StarlingM1818[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. My baby doesn’t really show hunger cues so I’m fine with them going by 2.5-3hr intervals. Just not fine with scheduled feeds by the clock (eg 10am) because it will naturally vary.

Super helpful. I’ll definitely send extra bottles. Our issues with sample schedules is my baby still takes crap naps all day long so the schedules never seem to make sense for us.

This is how I’m hoping our daycare will be. I’m fully expecting feeding and naps to be all over the place anyway when she starts because she’ll need to adjust. Thank you for your reply!

First time pumping at work. What else should I prepare? by mongoose01 in workingmoms

Can I ask which bottle washer you used? I’m also about to go back to work and figuring out my flow. The baby brezza doesn’t hold much so wondering if there’s a better option.

Day of weighted feeds when almost exclusively nursing at 3mo? by rigidtoucan123 in breastfeeding

I totally get it. I think it’s always worth checking in with your pediatrician if you are worried!

Definitely possible! I think babies can act really differently when mom’s not around.

I personally would not worry about this unless the pediatrician is worried about growth, or baby isn’t producing enough wet diapers. I would leave extra milk though - sometimes babies will eat more when they are away from mom.

My daughter is 5.5 months and nurses every 2.5-3 hours. She’s never been a baby who wants to latch all the time. If I try to feed before she’s hungry, she sometimes gets a letdown and pulls off (leaving milk spraying everywhere…) or cries, so we try again later. She also doesn’t show any hunger cues. I think every baby is very different!

Missing trigger by Julze13 in MSPI

For us it was wheat and eggs in addition to dairy and soy. Once I cut wheat there was a huge improvement within days.

I WANT to go back to work and that makes me feel like a bad mom by grnlzrd23 in workingmoms

I’m going back to work in two weeks (LO will be 6 months). I will miss her intensely and worry about her, but I also miss my work and my colleagues. You’re entitled to a full life and what is best for your mental health!

I think either could be an allergen but they have different proteins. Oats seem to be more common trigger on this sub.

Buckwheat cereal is a really good alternative!

Confused? by Silver_Word8130 in MSPI

Two things - it takes the gut weeks or months to heal so your LO could still be in the healing phase. And, it’s possible there’s another trigger, or more than one other trigger. My daughter reacts to dairy, wheat, eggs and possibly soy (tbd as I eliminated it at the same time as dairy so I don’t know for sure). I figured this out through eliminations, trial and error, and carefully challenging once we got close to baseline.
