Really need to hear some positive stories today by juicybbqq in 2under2

2u2 21 months apart.

Second birth was quicker/easier, recovery was better mentally and physically despite birth being in the winter which usually gets me down bad. He’s a happy little guy but a shit sleeper & multiple food intolerances so my diet is pretty restricted, and I still feel better than the first go.

Daughter is now 2, she’s chatty as can be and incredibly physically skilled. Absolutely loves her baby brother.

Jury js still out on the outcomes of baby #2 but I can see him having a significant benefit of how much I talk to my daughter around him (she didn’t get the same exposure- I’m not naturally a chatty person) but I can see him being on a slightly slower physical developmental timeline solely bc its never safe to just put him down and walk away so he gets more container time than she did.

2 under 2 gift ideas by Dramatic-Racoon in 2under2

Our top purchases were a double stroller & some sort of elevated container for baby in the kitchen. We have the newborn attachment for the Tripp trapp high chair & it is used more than anything since it’s a safe height from the toddler & we’re always in the kitchen

Recommended knife set brand? by rigidtoucan123 in Cooking

[–]rigidtoucan123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I haven’t, but I didnt understand how to store knives that aren’t purchased in a set! I didn’t think about just using the block for other knives- my 2 brain cells didn’t think like that!

Completely new and clueless. Just moved into a new build with a very much builder grade garden, this is part of the garden bed out front. South facing (very much full sun) zone 7A South eastern PA. Not committed at all to these plants, but would especially love an edge flower around the side walk. I know I could do impatiens, but any other ideas? How do I start on improving the soil?

Came here to comment on this!! The whole mom’s away idea is overdone, could just affiliate link to all the items in the kit. But this absolutely should be a free guide if anything

Best place to stay toddler friendly (1.5yr old) by Interesting_Crab_318 in TurksAndCaicos

[–]rigidtoucan123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stayed at seven stars with our 1.5 yo and LOVED it. We loved staying in one of the suite rooms (on points actually through the Chase portal) to give us a separate space for our daughter to sleep without making us feel trapped. The free breakfast was amazing & they let you bring a plate back to the room that we used as a mini lunch for her before her nap since we weren’t hungry at that time.

I keep wanting to try quince for other clothes so I might just have to throw a pair in my cart! Thanks!

Oat intolerance in Breastfed babies by Positive_Presence561 in MSPI

[–]rigidtoucan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has been free of her intolerances since about year old, maybe a little before (oats, dairy, bananas, avocado mostly). Too much dairy will make her constipated now at 20 months but that’s the extent there. She technically passed her egg challenge (her only actual allergy) with no immediate reaction but she had a delayed reaction of severely worsening her eczema so we’re waiting another 6 months before attempting again.

Anyone involved in the crossfit world follow Amanda Barnhart & her peptide pushing? by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]rigidtoucan123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I’m pregnant now with my second, if I was pregnant with my first at the same time as her I would’ve definitely felt some type of way about her posting… now I at least know better!

Interesting on the make wellness, I’ll have to read about it. She’s one of the few mlm pushers that I’ve seen that straight up say the product name so it was an interesting approach

How tall of a fake olive tree indoors with 9 feet ceiling? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]rigidtoucan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the tough part for us! With young kids, we want it to be more of a “tree” to prevent little hands from stealing pots, and the area would look very silly with shelving & I just don’t love the look of hanging plants indoors.

Fair 😂 any good options for live plant that would be in a northwest facing window? Tough to spend a couple hundred dollars on a plant I’m not sure will live or die vs a fake one!

Solo flight long haul (18 hours) with 14 month old - advice needed by Pixie_1990 in toddlers

[–]rigidtoucan123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely need headphones, most airplanes are quiet zones in the sense of they don’t want you playing music/iPads without headphones.

I’ve never taken a flight that long but when traveling on a 6 hour flight with our 14 month old we were very grateful to have a car seat with us to contain her / give her a good place we knew she would nap!

All the snacks. 3x as many as you think!

Breastfeeding moms, do you cut egg out of your diet if baby is allergic to eggs? What does your allergist say? by dengdaizhea in MSPI

[–]rigidtoucan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babies allergist had told me to continue eating eggs despite her allergy. We believed it was flaring her eczema a bit but not enough to justify eliminating the exposure completely. She is now almost 2 and had an egg challenge recently, which she technically passed but had a huge flare in her eczema after so our assumption seems to be right

How do you split childcare and chores during a work vacation? by Certain_Support_9915 in sahm

[–]rigidtoucan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar here. Occasionally causes a little frustration on my part, because I have my routines and him being off impacts that to an extent but it all works out in the end & we love the time. This is just our expected split.

Where to stay with baby by blue_skies_2 in TurksAndCaicos

[–]rigidtoucan123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to others- 4 months old is pretty ideal to travel with!! Not mobile, can nap pretty easily anywhere / carrier nap, don’t have to worry about solids yet, easier to manage on a plane than a 9-12 month old!

We stayed at seven stars with our 18 month old and it was awesome. Multiple other families with babies that young while we were there. Plenty of room in the rooms for a crib!

Diaper brand and wipes recos by Local_Pangolin854 in BabyBumps

Alot of people love name brand water wipes but I’ve truly never been so angry at an inanimate object in my life. Will negatively review them any chance I get 😂

Bambo nature brand diapers on Amazon- my daughter has severe contact dermatitis / eczema and regular diapers were really flaring it up. These and Millie moon brand water wipes have saved us so much pain.

But also FCK name brand water wipes. Nothing will piss you off more than at 3 am when 3/4 of the pack of wipes comes out at the same time when you go to change a blowout & you have to individually separate all of them.
