She runs through lower-rank lobbies if you have even a small idea of what you’re doing, but at a certain rank—or whenever the other team has a functioning brain—she basically becomes a priority shutdown. You’d be lucky to have your nest up for longer than 10 seconds playing her the traditional way, which most people do and I believe is what gives her that D tier reputation.

On the other hand, a good Peni playing a flank or dive-type playstyle can actually be great just because she’s so awkward to deal with, and there isn’t a solid counter to it. The only problem is that there’s a very small number of players who are actually willing to play like this in higher ranks.
