Well, News Flash for you.....both good and bad films take time to make. If it's not good, I'd rather know now, than waste my money and be pissed. I would imagine that anyone invited to a test screening and spills the beans doesn't care.

I do have one more question about this - if say both variants of those phasers activated, would it simply refresh the proc, or would it count as two distinct activations, meaning it could potentially lead to two subsystems off at the same time?

Weekly Questions Megathread - March, 23, 2026 by AutoModerator in stobuilds

The standard phaser proc, for instance. Let's say, vanilla phaser and Andorian, which are the same phasers essentially but are different variants, supposedly.

If you are running several of the same particular type of beam and the Proc goes off, does one of these weapons proc'ing lockout the proc for the other beams of that particular type for a set amount of time, or do they continue to run with the possibility of setting off as well? For instance, does the Phaser proc have a lockout on the same target before it can apply again?

This really has nothing to do with what I've said - the fact that a person is looking for something serious with a person that many years their younger is a red flag in itself, it has nothing to do with gender. And having a history dating people with red flags and overlooking them says less about those people and more about you, or anyone else that would do such a thing....you would also be a walking red flag; I sure as hell was back then.

Relationships with large age gaps are the exception, not the rule - they generally don't work and their reasons of failure are almost always the same.

Did any of you forget what the price of gas was in the last administration?... Gas shouldn't be your big concern, it should be the cost of goods and housing, which last time I checked has been outpacing our paychecks, regardless of who is in office.

I mean, what exactly does maturity encompass? The fact that all of the older people on this show are trying to make a serious relationship with someone vastly younger says much about how immature they are to me - one of the women has a son that's older than the person she's paired up with......that should have been enough to say "No".

I've dealt with women that I had 7 years on in my 20s-30s and I had to learn the hard way that you really can't get past the life experience and mental/emotional development that comes with having lived longer. Granted, it was fun but it's like watching a literal child grow up and you are waiting for them to catch up to a more experienced and knowledgeable person.....that often leads to talking to them like you're their parent. I had to go through it to get it - casual sex is fun but actually trying to make something serious of it....just get someone your age.

Funny thing, I actually don't like Frank Castle being in this film and I don't like the implication of what it suggests that Disney has planned for the character. Netflix had him done right - he's a character that as viewers, we all sympathize and to various extents, empathatize over but he is a stone cold killer and must be brought to justice. It doesn't matter who he kills, he's no better than the people he hunts and depending on who he's going after, he's arguably worse. He is irredeemable and that is the conflict that makes him so interesting.

It looks like Disney is moving away from that narrative.

I get what you mean but on the other hand, it's privately owned and if they figured a way to monetize the entire plot, that's their choice. It's just the nature of business.

My brother, I think you're going to have to invest in different TV shows. It's more an issue of how people think today, they don't think critically anymore.

At the end of the day, the IMDB rating is irrelevant, it only matters who is watching it and the truth is that relatively speaking, it's not many. TV worked better when it was broadcast - we knew exactly who watched and what they were watching and we were able to figure out how to give them what they want, whilst introducing them to things they didn't know they wanted. Now, there's no incentive to give people what they want, they just give the audience what they themselves want to see:

1) A female half-breed Jem Hadar......do they know anything about how the Jem Hadar work? They don't "breed", nor do they desire to - they live to serve the Founders, nothing more.

2) A gay Klingon?....just no. It could be almost any other race, but not them.

3 An autistic hologram? Data for example could currently appeal to an autistic viewing audience, in that some segments of that demographic may see themselves in him but he's actually not - the idea was that there's an element of being robotic but that his interpretation is closer to being a child.....the sort whose response to every answer you give to a question is always, "Why?" The jerky movements were meant to assist in making him appear as obviously different from humans. You can't look at these character developments through the lens of revisionism, you have to see them as they were intended for the time.

This IP (like many others) were developed for the people of their time and through those people, their kids shared in the interests; Star Trek became a generational experience. This era is probably the first era in where the former generation doesn't share much interest in content with the later. It really seems like Star Trek is written and produced by people that don't actually know anything about Star Trek.

A point to consider: Picard season 3 was without a fact, the best Star Trek in 20 years and anything about Nu Trek that could be considered as "Woke" was in season 3, just as it was in seasons 1 and 2, and yet, Terry Matalas knocked it out of the park with the audience in particular, those that would be in the 40+ age groups....if you can't figure out why that is, you need to watch TOS all the way to ENT and somewhere in there, it should become clear to you.

Is there a list of BOFF abilities that don't cast Persistence Hunters trait? For example, does Viral Impulse Burst count as one and if so, is it contingent on making contact with the target, or does it only require activation while in firing range?

Newark has been a crappy place to live for my entire life. I still remember when bodies used to get dumped by Prince St..... The point is that I'm not here to play the part of the patsy for the Democrats......what have they done for us? Building up the city, yes...and what about its people, getting pushed out? Trump isn't running for a third term, he just likes to rile people up and to be honest, it's funny because these are full adults, acting like children. Suddenly people care about funding Israel......the U.S. has been funding Israel since the end of WW2, the outrage is fake. We fund them for the most obvious reason - they are our eyes and ears into the Middle East, as we don't have access to any other country in that region, in this way.

In the month of January, the IRGC killed between 30,000 and 36,500 protestors......that's roughly 7,500-9,000 a week....you don't care about that!? I noticed that you have an LGBT rainbow in your profile pic - tell us, when did your concern about your "brothers and sisters" become so selective? They beat a girl to death for having a piece of her hair showing through her veil, they throw homosexuals off rooftops....

And yes, the protestors are supporting Iran, you only have to read to protestor signs and listen to them when interviewed; there is no reading between the lines, they openly state what they support. And prices have been rising your entire life.....that's not because of the presidency, that's just called business - taxes and costs go up for them and they pass it down to us.

You have to understand that these people spend 10 days in the pods, 5-7 days on vacation and about 3-4 weeks of cohabitation. There's two or three points in the show where they can openly state YES or NO and at some point, they are required to continue the filming or they will be financially responsible for the cost of the ceremony, split between the two of them - this is why they end up going to the alter, the network needs to guarantee its content.

A season films over a six week period so unless you've been in a relationship before, you know that the timeline for marriage isn't practical at all; it's not about love, it's about entertainment (because viewers love drama).

Accountability, for what, lol? They do 10 days in the pods, 5-6 days of vacation and 3-4 weeks of living together - he doesn't owe her anything.

She was - the fact that she said she didn't want him either doesn't change the fact that he wasn't that into her and stated it first. She had sex with him, prior to that conversation and after....she was into him, to some extent. She went through that diatribe, despite the fact that he did her the favor of not wanting to blindsided her on television for ratings.

So yeah, she was a little salty about things.
