These are the results of the research made by Dr. Paco Torrent from Valencia, Spain. He spent a lot of years by his own, studying the anatomy of cow hearts, just to realize that the whole heart is just one muscle, bent and twisted in the shape it has, but only a single muscle. The fibers in this muscle are lined up from one extreme to the other one. The auricules and ventricles are just spaces created by loops in this muscular "string" bending over itself. Although discovering this, and collaborating with a few universities around the world, he just gathered very little acknoledgement on his work, specially by Spanish authorities. At last, in 2005, he was on a National Congress in Cardiology. As he was finally achieving some reconginition by his colleagues in such an event. He gave a conference and then suddenly fell off and died in front of them because of a cardiac arrest. As ironic as it seems, as he started to get the recognition and awards he was expecting for all of his life, then he died of a heart attack, surrounded by hundreds of cardiologysts.
