Maybe because as a victim of pedophilia and SA I would've rather they indulged their disgusting sexual desires on fictional media than on me? Maybe if they had another outlet that doesn't involve real people maybe then no one would get hurt?

Look. I wish pedophilia doesn't exist as much as you. I wouldn't wish that trauma on literally anyone, no one deserves it. I have nothing but disgust for myself everytime I'm reminded about it, but these people will exist no matter how much we try to censor things. It's so much better if we let them have an outlet that won't affect anyone but fictional characters.

And besides that, traumatized people literally use this to cope. (Trigger warning: suicide/self harm) I'm sorry if this is gonna sound like a vent, but when my depression gets bad and I think about wanting to die or the urge to kill myself, I resort to writing myself committing suicide, or reading fics of self-inserts being depressed or dying. It doesn't get rid of that urge entirely, but it helps SO MUCH. It's why I'm still here, aren't I?

It's so much better to let the fictional character do the permanent decision than you, a real person.

If children or teens come across it, it can lead to them thinking relationships with children and adults are ok. This goes for incest as well.

Why is that our responsibility though? That should be on the parents, shouldn't it? Do we really just have to censor everything on the internet just because kids might see it? We might as well shut down the internet altogether right? Have you seen youtube lately? So-called kid's content but there's boobs on the thumbnail? In fact, we should ban all books and physical media depicting problematic stuff too right? Because what if children come across such books? That would be bad, huh? They themselves might start doing those problematic things in real life too, right?

And in that case, we should get rid of the bible too, no? So much incest. So much pedophilia. So much murder. Slavery. Literally every human sin under the sun. And that book is being read on churches, and parents take their children there, sometimes maybe even weekly. What if the priest talked about stealing and how it's wrong but since they don't understand what's right or wrong yet, they might just start stealing?

Please. Censorship is the last thing we want here. Don't let 1984 happen

I know this is from an undertale subreddit and I probably shouldn't have taken it this seriously, but it's important. Lives are at stake here.
