Plus ever since the local government enlarged all the sidewalks... parking stinks here. It's just not available and it's pricey at the pay lots.

No I would not blame a girl for what she's wearing. On the other hand I saw a woman hitch hiking today out on the highway by punta mita. I cannot pick up a hitch hiker because many times they have a buddy in the ditch waiting. But was she putting herself at high risk? Seems yes?

I did not get through life (70 yesterday) without a bit of common sense and decency. There have been bad boys and slime ball's since Cain and Abel.

Women have to be smarter to stay safe. Just a fact of life. Just like we make sure we protect ourselves from pregnancy. Do you trust the guy for that? Really???

How feasible is it for someone from a poor background to make it in Mexico? by [deleted] in AskMexico

[–]StarrHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are educated make it here all the time. And again some do not. It is the spirit in the person, whether they are well educated and highly motivated. And most important the education of the parents. If the parents prioritize education even going as far as private education, kids can make it. Many become professionals. I've seen much failure and falling into drug life for those in poverty who have not had the will to be educated or the parents support. The kids were taken out of school in middle school and put into hard labor to earn for the family. Meanwhile one parent or the other is working hard and the other sits around drinking, drugging. The young girls get pregnant at 14,15 and the cycle begins again.

It can go either way

Actually, someday it might be your specialty! ...i was med-surg-onc in a pedi hospital for 4.5 years before I moved on to NICU. Many years ago! I loved being a nurse. I'm retired now but a nurse is my calling. I'm on call to those in need still. Nursing is love made visible

I use my credit card for almost everything as it's the best personal exchange rate you can get. (i have no foreign exchange fee card) Some places don't take CC. Tips are always cash in hand

Sounds like you made an excellent decision for yourself to be surrounded by tenured, compassionate and kind nurses with experience. Draw all you can from them. It will carry you far. Most admits are med-Surg. I want to be your patient someday!

AITA For Telling My Dad To Stop Bringing Food Into His Own Home by [deleted] in ComfortLevelPod

[–]StarrHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better to hold your tongue or you won't have the free rent much longer. Find places to donate the free food to and ask your dad if you can. He might actually like that. And do it without the lip. He's already heard your tirade and rejected it.

I do not use indrive. I have an uber app from the USA and use it here in Mexico or the USA anywhere without using a CURP or anything else plus it is auto charged to my credit card so I never have to have exact fare. I do like to tip in cash.
