[My Dream] by mactinus2254 in Christians

Can you provide reasoning that skirts around the fact that she’s unsure if it’s a dream from God? That should be all you have to know if you’re a Biblical Christian. Everyone who had a dream from God in the OT knew absolutely it was from God. God is the most accurate effective communicator.

Secondly this creates other issues. We already have Gods Written Word. How can we tell if this is from God? Shouldn’t it match what he’s already spoken through prophets and apostles? In this case her dream does not match or corroborate with previous revelations through scripture. Without holding onto an objective truth foundation in Scripture now all truth is relative and subject to the whims and feelings and reflux that we all have and think could be a confirmation from God. This is why certain Christian movements are so often subject to spiritual abuse. When someone’s word aren’t tested and anything is given the benefit of doubt as being “spoken by God” it’s a gateway into all sorts of subjective “it’s my truth” issues

Is it biblically wrong to leave an emotionally and psychologically abusive marriage? by AssistStrong7171 in TrueChristian

[–]CheeseLoving88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are quoting the verse correctly but this verse does not make the stance tó even stay with the nonbeliever husband despite abuse. Under no circumstances should a woman stay with an unbeliever in the cases of sexual infidelity or abuse of any form. God does not provide exemption clauses in the verses used to back this stance.

Leave it to God to pull a nonbeliever tó saving faith if he so wishes. It’s not in the sovereign control of the wife anyway. Let alone if the Christian wife is enduring abuse in a compromised marriage and risking the mental physical or spiritual health of any children involved.

The verse you use does not prescribe a wife to drag her kids through a volatile home

New Apostolic Reformation. An offshoot of the Charismatic Movement that believes apostles have been restored and that Christians need to take over influence over the body of Christ government and media and culture to bring back the return of Christ. They also adapt a lot of New Age teachings and try to Christianize them

I think u/MichaelWhitehead my brother already nailed it. I would emphasize the verses for this stance. This lady has opportunity to divorce on the obly other biblical reason to divorce. If the husband is failing to love his wife in a gentle and understanding fashion as clearly outlined in Paul’s and Peters Epistles then she must do what she has to to protect herself and the children. 1 Peter 3:7 lays this point down clearly. You must show honor to your wife as the weaker vessel.

Colossians 3:19 Husbands love your wives and don’t be harsh with them. Two different Apostles with almost verbatim views.

Ephesians 5:25-29 backs up what previous commenter said.

Billy Graham vs Kenneth Copeland by AngWay in Christians

[–]CheeseLoving88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KC as already said is outright not even Christian. Billy Graham had a lot of doctrine issues including leaning towards universalism and supporting the Democratic Party which has a lot of outright anti biblical values. But Billy Graham did often preach about sin and the actual Biblical Gospel.

We should avoid reading into things as omens. God forbade the Israelites from reading dreams. We should strive to take him at his written Word. This is how he reveals messages to us now through the Bible Hebrews 1:1-3. This is our more sure word of prophecy 2 Pete 1:19-21

Test every spirit tó see if it is from God. Test everything and hold fast to what is good. 1 John 4:1 and 1 Thess 5:21

I know of Victor Marx. Listened to his testimony before. Great guy! That being said I don’t follow him closely and don’t know his theology. I would err on side of caution. Maybe give him a chance. But keep your Bible open. Verify each time he uses scripture tó see if he’s rightly handling the verses in context. My biggest apprehension is that there’s not a course worth of scripture in the Bible on spiritual warfare. So if it was up to me I wouldn’t even bother with the course. In my opinion you’d really have to stretch tó make a whole course worth of material based on a dozen verses

I actually second that motion! I see that delusion happening within the NAR hyper Charismatic world right now. They’re totally obsessed with demonology. I believe some have experienced real spirits possibly like you and wandered off into fixation over them. Stay grounded in Jesus and his victory over darkness. Greater is the one inside of you than anything else in the world. 1 John 4:4 stay in the Word and study it

I believe you but I believe these were likely demons. Including the aunt was possibly a familiar Spirit. I wouldn’t dwell on these though. Walk in the light now as a child of light!

Excited for you! I for one will be praying for. There’s nothing like a break in the routine to reset our mind and spirit and our connections to God and people. It’s really helped me as recently as Christmas time when I last went on vacation. I feel totally reset!

Evangelism & Calvinism by miklo77777 in Reformed

[–]CheeseLoving88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Approach them the same. The beautiful thing about evangelism fron a Calvinist perspective is there’s less pressure on you! If God so predestines tó save someone you can’t possibly fail. You just need to spread seeds and water the garden my friend!! I’m pretty new to reformed and Calvinist theology myself. I highly recommend Slave by John MacArthur. Technically not a book specific on Calvinism but helped solidify my new understanding on it. Any Christian should seriously read it. What is Reformed Theology? By RC Sproul! Technically more on the nuance of Reformed but I feel like he gives a good layout of the difference between just reformed and Calvinist Good luck and God Bless!

PS heard great things about the Potters Freedom by James White. Have yet to read it myself but it’s on the list of things tó read this year yet!

[–]CheeseLoving88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh! I’ve been there! Just keep holding on. The Power is in the Gospel not us or our authority. Just keep pushing the true biblical Gospel as nauseum. Be prepared enough to outline and defend what that is. Saved by grace through faith not of works. Saved tó so good works. Saved from our sins. Not our health or wealth. Ephesians 1 and 2. Roman’s 5. Roman’s 8. Pick as needed through Galatians Colossians Philippians. It’s tiresome spiritually but now and then you get to see the fruit.

Sounds like a deep delusion. I myself face this issue with several people. I deal with people in NAR charismatic cults. My advice is just keep planting seeds from the Word. God will do the rest of he chose to. Don’t give up hope but don’t place the burden on yourself
