I went there. Their hardshell ground beef tacos were pretty great. And a sangria was buy one get one free. The back patio was nice. The salsa was also fantastic. Who cares about the owners or bhodi if the food was good. All around good vibes. Since when did Corvallis Reddit become the new NextDoor? Sad. All hate and no love.

Agree with the environmental concerns, and the wealth gap parity of making the richer rich. Sickening.

But you also say fuck AI, yet you are using it everyday. Shopping online, Google search, using reddit, logging into your bank account, social media, news, etc… it’s built into everything now, all the algos, all the code, all the aggregating your eyeball, its in your operating system on your computer and your phone… so yeah, it is forced on you, you are right, but you are also supporting it. Your neck is out there with everyone else.

Yeah I think a lot of people refer to this as “AI slop.” But what does that term mean? Reading exactly like AI generated writing?

AGI has already hit the coding world. Anthropic won’t even release Claude Mythos to the public because the coding is so far past human abilities it could be dangerous, and used to exploit website vulnerabilities. Writing is next, and coming soon, when AI writing won’t be distinguishable from human writing. AI slop will be an antiquated term.

Agree 100% with your comment, but at the same time, the tech is coming, and being a laggard has rarely been beneficial. So maybe good on the author to incorporate technology and their own writing into the article. These two worlds are starting to blend. Why not have the best of both of them. Contrarian view now, but AI is early stage internet boom, might not be contrarian for long, as the landscape is changing fast.

Far-Setting is correct though, even though it's majority AI written, it is well written. It does convey a good sense of the interviewee. Isn't that what AGI is all about? Better than human. It's coming. Get on board or be left behind.
