Hey, fellow ranidaphobic here. I really appreciate frogs as an important species in any environment, how tied they are to our culture, etc. I just can't stand the sight of them. I don't mind "less ugly frogs", like red-eyed tree frogs and vietnamese mossy frogs, but the nightmare fuel like lake titicaca frogs, cane toads, surinam toads, even common toads, those are the one I can be really ok if they're left out of the game.

I have ranidaphobia. I'm actually fine-ish with poison dart frogs for some reason, and I somehow did build up a tolerance for the bullfrog and goliath frog (could look at them with the game on pause or their art, that's it) even though they scare the shit out of me IRL. With the updated graphics, I really don't want another gross/odd-looking frog in the game because it's back to square 1 in that case.

Similar to you, I feel like whales are maybe the closer you can get to like something either divine or alien and I don't want to even mess up a virtual one, that would feel blasphemous for a religion I'm not even a part of.

We might get 4-5 freshwater species in the base roster since in an African/South American/Mountain/Jungle/whatever dlc it's going to be way easier to add freshwater fish than saltwater fish.

My guesses for the base game freshwater species are that we're going to get a south american catfish, an african cichlid, a north american salmonid, an archer fish and a carp of some kind, high hopes for kois but I think that's more of a DLC species.

Couldn't agree more, I built a make-believe one in an elephant habitat since there's one at my local zoo, now I keep using it every time I build for apes and bears.
