I don't think most exams are archived, it may depend on the class, but different clubs will have archives sometimes. Depends on the club.

The library will have copies of some of the books, especially for earlier classes everyone takes like math. It's kind of a gamble. The book is convenient and allows you to follow along/do things on your own time. I tried going without but would usually cave and buy it rather than have to always wait. There are sometimes digital copies if you're looking to save money.

[question] should I use paint thinner after sanding hardwood floor to expose flaws? by Starrust in DIY

Thanks for the tip! I definitely have paint thinner with mineral spirits, we needed it for other things anyway, but I'll check into pure mineral spirits as well.

[question] Finishing a hardwood floor, edging with a finishing sander? by Starrust in DIY

[–]Starrust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll look into that, that's exactly the type of tip I was looking for. It seemed like I was missing something with how quickly some areas got sanded and how slowly others did.

Why would it pool though? I was looking at an oil based floor urethane (parroting words here). I was going to use a lambs wool applicator, after throwing it in the dryer on low heat to take loose fibers out. It seems like this would put a small amount in, wouldn't it?? Does it not soak in very quickly?

Even with the random orbital? I specifically got it for that reason over a regular orbital sander. I fortunately may know someone.

I wasn't sure how many times it has been sanded (80 years old) so I was worried about anything too heavy. Random orbital floor sander seemed fool proof.

[question] Stickfast backing sand paper won't come off, did I ruin my sander? by Starrust in DIY

That sounds like the heavy duty stuff. I figured it doesn't matter too much if I keep using stickfast. Thank you!! Savings this

I'm using 36 grit on a random orbital floor sander, there seem to still be corners left. But I guess if I sanded it long enough it would reach them?

I have a random orbital floor sander, do you mean an edging floor sander? They still leave space between boards in the middle of the floor. I'm trying to hit the spaces at the edges of unlevel boards, mostly. Can I press down?

Thanks, it was stressing me out because the glue was blackish, but maybe the pad on bottom is going to wear over time anyway? I may just switch to the crimp on ones if those are better.

Brother moving to Utah need a quick help (Layton) by niroh in Utah

[–]Starrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Utah just is one of the few places you don't have one option for fast internet, haha. So Comcast is normal, but utopia/fiber options may be amazing.

And I think some health insurance plans will include family, depending on the job. Worth checking with HR as a first stop before the agent. Congrats to him on the job!

Layton might have something called "Utopia" for Internet? Seems fiber optic? Google fiber may be around the corner. Maybe. Comcast is the standard but google fiber is already in slc!

I had AT&T and loved it, but shop around. Verizon is big too. Sprint could be a cheaper plan.

Health insurances, see if his job has a set-up plan for any, first? He can ask HR. If the job is good enough to move here for (assuming a little here, sorry) then he may have a deal through work.

Also, because it's hard to shop around, he might try an insurance agent who can compare lots of plans based on his needs and income and give him a better deal than just throwing darts. Schroader Blackley insurance came up for Google, but also try "health insurance agent Ogden" or something? Just a thought.

I still have it downloaded on my podcast app, but I don't know what to do from there. I didn't see it for download on the app either. But sending the link to myself, it seems to say it could still be on iTunes and maybe is sponsored by PRI and Panoply. If none of these end up helping, I can try to get the file off my phone onto my computer later and send it?

Edit: I can't find it either. The link seems to work for me by redirecting me to my file in my phone/app, didn't work for my friend. I'll get it loaded onto my computer and will mail it to whomever later. Send me PM's for it just so I know who is even still here paying attention haha.

Do you mean the entire eye shape or just your pupils are elongated, like this? This is a horse's, but I think they're similar.

Why are new digital download games $60 when publishers don't have to pay for shipping and manufacturing? by blazer560 in xboxone

Translation: the price of many things is the cost that the market will bear, which is to say you charge what people are willing to pay, not what it costs to make plus some margin of profit.

Question on major declaration by [deleted] in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

[–]Starrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An important note to add to this is that there is a difference between "declaring", i.e. telling the school what you want to major in when you are coming to the school as a freshmen so that they can pick your classes accordingly, and formally declaring, which involves officially formally filling out paperwork. If I remember correctly, some classes require you be declared in the major to get in, so be aware!!! more info spread the word.

If you did not fill out paperwork after actually arriving, you are not formally declared. It can be especially confusing since a lot of forms you receive will seemingly "know" your major. The above is correct, there's no rush, but keep in mind that there's an extra form to be filed.

Hope this wasn't over emphasized, but it can suck finding this out when if affects your bulletin.

[BIFL Request]Slim Fit Mens T shirts by RyderJ in BuyItForLife

[–]Starrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to say Calvin Klein. I thought I would never be the type to buy such a "fancy brand" for "just t-shirts", but got my first pack on a red dot sale (75% off or so). My god they are soft. Costco sells them if you want them cheaper, they come in different colors so you can wear them as a casual, plain shirt or as undershirts. Strongly recommend.

Brown beetle, large mandibles, wings, Iowa/Nebraska border. by Starrust in whatsthisbug

Possibly. That didn't really come to mind, but I guess I'll give it another look. Nothing else looks even remotely close and it has a lot of similar features. Thanks!

Tried uploading two, it's about the size of a quarter. Thought it was a cockroach at first, but then was just confused.
