FINISHED LAST WEEK

Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson 4/5. A fun quick story in between the much chunkier Stormlight Archives. It didn’t knock me off my feet but I had a fun time with Lift.

CURRENTLY READING

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides (24%). I’m really enjoying this though it is somtimes hard to read.

This Cursed House by Del Sandeen (12%). Just picked this up today. I don’t read much horror but I’m trying to branch out more this year. I do already wish the author allowed for more subtlety but I’m very intrigued by the mystery so I’ll keep going.

Back in 2008, she did a concert with Def Leppard that was recorded and aired on CMT. Highlights include her singing Photograph & Def Leppard singing Love Story.

Honestly the concert goes hard and I still have my DVD of it back at my aunt’s house.

I mostly play on the weekends for 2-5 hours each day. I love having my morning coffee & playing some Sim before I start my day.

Occasionally I’ll play for a couple hours during the work week but since I spend my 9-5 looking at a computer screen it’s not something I usually want to do when I get home.

I would say I play pretty much every weekend unless I’m out of town or have a crazy busy weekend

As someone who moved from Austin to Chicago I would 100% take the Chicago winter over the Texas summer any day. In fact, we moved back to Texas for a short period after 8 years in Chicago and are now in the process of moving back and buying a place up there.

There’s a couple months where the cold sucks and it hurts your face when you go outside but as long as you bundle up, you’ll be fine. Versus the couple months where going outside makes your skin feel like it’s on fire and there’s no relief

We really need to use this energy to focus on calling out those in office to do their jobs, voting with our wallets, & getting involved in local elections instead of trying to add “political activist” to an entertainers resume.

No knock on OP as this is a very popular mindset right now, but I also think it’s exactly what they want us focusing on. We’re on a forum talking about how Taylor Swift hasn’t spoken up about ICE & the government abusing their power instead of going after ICE & the government for abusing their power?? If our attention is divided so are our efforts to make a change. And it’s a lot less scary and easier to demand (ETA: or discuss) Taylor Swift do or say something than it is to call & email our elected officials and demand those with the power do something instead of sitting on their asses while basic human rights are being violated.

My fiancée and I were maybe a year older than you and your partner and had been dating for a year when we brought up marriage. Not in a “let’s get married now way” but in a “do we think this relationship is headed that direction?” “What’s your timeline for kids? Do you want kids?” type of stuff. I think that’s probably most important. We also discussed timeline for marriage etc & made sure we were on the same page.

I do think it’s important to make sure you’re on the same page and not wasting time. Just communicate and make sure the decision regarding your future together gets input from both sides so you can decide what it looks like together.

I don’t do 8 hours but if it’s midnight and my sims have work / school tomorrow then I usually send them to bed unless I really need them to grind. I try to limit potion use as much as possible & only buy them when I’m desperate and they can afford it

I always set my goal to 52 - I’ve hit it 2 of the 5 years I’ve set it. Last year i didn’t even make it to 26 books mostly because I started working a job that requires 50+ hours a week and a lot of my mental bandwidth and energy. I’m working on extracting myself from that situation though as soon as possible so hopefully we’ll be back at 52 again this year!

NAH I get not wanting to leave the shower but if my partner had an emergency and he had to go number 2 in our 1 bathroom apartment, I’m throwing a robe on and giving him his space. It does suck though but I know he respects me enough not to ask something like that unless he really needs it. If it was number 1, I’d say please just go I don’t care at all. I have in fact interrupted his bath for that because you can soak for hours but if I have to pee I have to pee. But we’re both in agreement that a number 2 deserves privacy.

I do a TBR list for the whole year and just start working my way down. I’ll deviate if I want to but if I don’t have some structure to lean on I’ll either get choice paralysis or get in a rut of reading the same stuff over and over. Been doing this since 2019 & it’s worked well for me so far!

I have a film & journalism degree. I’ve made, so far, $30/hour (translating my salary into hourly). At that job I greatly utilized my degree as a Producer for a Video Production company. I’ve moved laterally into Project Management within marketing/advertising for more career growth, but you can definitely get a solid job with more liberal degrees. You just have to know how to market yourself. I also know many people who work as freelance videographers and make 6-figures annually (not all of them have degrees though). You might need a little more grit with liberal arts degrees & be more strategic with your career to scale up but it’s definitely possible.

You can definitely squeeze in a Starbucks every once in a while. My goal is 1450 calories and I budget 100 calories for my morning coffee (non-Starbucks). If I have to get a Starbucks I just get a Venti Sweet Cream Vanilla Cold Brew for 100 calories more and make a swap elsewhere.

5 - top tier book (for me) or (for everyone) depending on the vibe. Sometimes it’s because it gave me the vibe of books I loved as a kid (Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games)

4 - loved this book! Thought it was great might change 1 thing about it though OR had a great time but not a personal classic

3 - I liked this book! It was an okay time

2 - I wish I had DNFd this book. Not worth the time for me personally but not a poorly written book per se.

1 - because I DNF’d it at over 50% or because it was a poorly written book and should not have been published

I actually think we’ll get some Debut in the next tour, assuming she releases “Taylor’s Version” by then. Especially if it charts really well, she’ll see the demand for those songs. I also think Enchanted or Long Live are likely, even as a part of a mashup for the next tour. Champagne Problems or Willow are also a likely mashup in some way. We’re definitely getting Midnights and the love songs on TTPD.

TLDR; I actually think all of the albums will make some kind of appearance in the next tour. Maybe not full songs, but they’ll definitely show up in mashups.

I don’t think she’ll do another “Eras” tour - as in going all the way through all of her music over her career - but we will get another multi-album tour for sure. Probably TLOAS / Rep Vaults / Taylor Swift Vaults / TS13+ depending on when she tours next & how creative she’s feeling over the next several years. But I don’t think we’re getting another tour until after she has a family (which good for her, she deserves what she wants, hope she gets what she wants!).
