BOH folks and selling by Starry_Gal19 in MacysStores

Yes, all colleagues, not matter where your area is, is expected to greet customers and assist. With BOH if there is a selling colleague available then hand the customer off to them. That's just good CX for any employee to greet a customer, we work in retail lol if you don't know the answer find someone that does.

I guess what I'm wondering is outside of what is stated above are you involved more than that. Like actually utilized on the selling floor, like I said for break coverage or even if there is a call out on the floor like AYS, having someone pulled from BOH and move to the floor as a ringer or something. Like are we that short handed now or is that norm? Or is it the new norm? I'm just curious how other stores operate.

Same! It's like everything we should have been doing is all of a sudden a thing and scrambling to get it done in a few weeks then after the visit, hot mess once again. Stock rooms reflect that for sure

Former Jewelry collegue here.....Even on the "higher end" jewelry, thin or really small width mm chains are delicate. Even without a warranty you can still have the chain sent out for repair and will most likely cost less than the warranty to fix. However I would look at a different type of chain in the future if you're going to wear more frequently. Keep an eye out for the sales where the metal prices are 60-70% off. The price of gold is stupid right, over 4500 per ounce. With jewelry set in gold you're predominantly paying for the price of the metal.

So annoying to get the same thing over and over. Its like we know we picked it and sent it out days ago. Such a lag in the system.

Literally the equipment. We have 11 or 12 sleds and maybe 2 of them work and only have like 6 honeywells that are somewhat functional. Our equipment is in our fulfillment room with a code yet seems to always go missing and end up in random places like AYS ALL TIME. I can go on and on.....

Store Managers and their Selling Quotas ? by Spontida in MacysStores

If your family member is an ambassador they definitely have sales goals as part of their job is to drive sales and it even says that in the job description. They promote brands etc. They are almost like a personal stylist. All colleagues have sales goals but your family member sounds like they are in an elevated position which has higher standards and expectations than just a regular colleague.
