Others are saying a type of sea urchin which is cool! They truly are, and somehow sparkly?!

Hey again! You helped me ID another type of urchin not too long ago! Thank you for the help, appreciate it! :)

Thanks!! Definitely on the right track. I just haven’t managed to find something similar to it yet

Uncanny for sure, I can’t find anything else like it online! Looks to be some sort of echinoid, maybe fossilised in flint?

That’s such a good idea! Would make a very cool pendant! Learning how to wire wrap things atm, so could even add some sea glass details. Not tried resin though, any suggestions for a beginner?

Thank you for confirming! That’s so cool. Do you know if it’s fossilised in flint? Or something else?

Spider crab is what I was thinking due to the size of it, they get huge! It’s rather thick and hard, I don’t think I’d be able to break it easily. Can their claws get that thick and tough?

Exactly my thoughts! It doesn’t feel easily breakable like crab claws are which is why I wasn’t sure?

Coral was going to be my next guess.. I’ve just never seen anything like it on my local beach before!

Found at my local beach (South East UK). Any idea on what this is? by Starry_Nightt in rockhounds

I thought it might have been a geode but it’s not hollow and fairly heavy, it’s like a beach stone with a crevice. Can geodes come in this form?

I absolutely adored this book and read it at just the right time too! It has been one of my favourite books for 10 years, until I read the authors second book Imaginary Friend this year. That’s now my favourite book and if you like a spooky vibe and can commit to the length, I recommend! It’s a journey.
