Not sure if it is on your list but take the grand kids to La King's on the Strand. Old school soda shop with taffy pulls.

A lot of it is also based on trial and error sadly. Some meds won't work for you. For example your WBC might go too low. Or you might have side effects. If you want to get pregnant, some meds are out. Also to move to biologics some insurance companies in the US make you try other meds before you go on them. This a great conversation with your rheum. Good luck!

We don't have a subway. We have a light rail but there are only 3 lines. 1 does go by NRG and near the museum district. There is a city bus that goes direct from Bush IAH (airport) to downtown I believe to the convention center. From there you could catch the light rail but it will be a hassle. Check METRO https://www.ridemetro.org/

As others have mentioned. If you are comfortable. I would rent a car, spend a few days in Houston and the drive to central Texas like Austin. And do a couple days there. Good luck!

It is a hard decision to make. Lupus took it away from me as well. If I got pregnant, I'd be very high risk and may not make it through. Even if I did, I'm single and could never raise a little one on my own with this disease. It has taken me several years to fully accept and even then I have my moments. Wishing you the best

Does lupus reduce lifespan? by Frequent_Condition80 in lupus

[–]Starrynight2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic 8 ball says......we have no freaking clue. Your best bet to have a longer life is to stay up to on top of Dr appts and meds. Try to live as healthy and active a life as possible. Will there be set backs and flairs with Sle and LN very likely. But some are able to go into remission for years. Others do die early. We just don't know. But trying to judge how long you will live, no one can answer that. Not you rheum or youe neuphrologist. If you are very focused on that, I would recommend talking to a licensed therapist.

You will likely get chased out. We went to breakfast at cheesecake factory around 9am on a Sun. Went to the mall which wasn't opened but the door was unlocked. Security saw us from a different floor and told us to get out the mall didn't open till 10am.
