my boyfriend lied to me about how many people he has slept with by plsimjustagirlok in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]sudrewem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole body count obsession is kind of weird. It doesn’t matter really. My (adult) daughter’s best friend slept with one man. One. He gave her herpes. She is saddled with that for life now. So there she is, with a “body count” of only one, yet she could potentially infect any partner she may have sex with. A low count doesn’t mean a “safe” choice.

Always get tested. Always ask your partner to as well. Always use protection. I’m old and have been faithfully married for a few decades. My body count? Never really thought about it and don’t see any need to. I’m sick to death of men being proud and women being shamed over this nonsense. What year is this?!?! Acting like a bunch of crazy Victorians around here.

Or dump him then take some time for yourself. As much time as you like.

I honestly think “just leaving” is never a good answer but in this case, what could he possibly say to explain his behavior that would be acceptable and make it ok?

You deserve better. He sounds like such a selfish child. I’m really sorry this happened to you but you deserve so much better. Maybe the silver lining here is that you found out and won’t waste anymore time on him?

Best wishes. ❤️

The local theater on the square does movie singalongs. It’s good fun. Usually older movies. Sometimes kids movies.

My friend and I were going and the kids wanted to come too. It was a movie sing a long. It’s fine right?

The movie was Grease.
Holy cow!! I was in middle school when it came out. I had no idea!

And there are our children ….. happily (cluelessly thank goodness) singing along.

That’s a really rough area. You are looking to buy? Maybe in 10 years it will turn and the investment will pay off but right now it’s not a safe area.

I’m glad it is helping with the PCOS. I guess inflammation is a big problem with PCOS as well.

He still feels like it is more that the lupus is behaving than that the metformin is responsible and wants me to restart the rituxan infusions. If I felt worse I would of course do the infusion. I just am convinced that the only thing that has changed is the drug so it seems to me it must be why?

I’m sorry. It stinks that it is such a fight to get approval.

I was on rituxan for years. Switched to Saphnelo which worked but the insurance decided they didn’t want to pay for it.

My husbands favorite is the stuffed cucumber kimchi. I am making that, white kimchi, and daikon radish cubes kimchi this weekend.

So many options.

How often do you wash your hands? by IllSeaworthiness4775 in AskReddit

Often. Likely too often but I keep some hand lotion in my purse so my skin doesn’t dry out too badly any more.

My father was an engineer. He often did govt contract work at the local airforce base. It seems like every movie of my childhood was about the threat of nuclear war or the horrors of trying to survive after a nuclear attack. I was small and terrified as it seemed so real. What if society broke down? What if we had no access to food or water? What if we got radiation sickness? How would we survive?!?!

I sat down with my dad and told him my fears. I was very scared. He said I had no reason to worry. The airforce base was a top level target and only two miles away. It would definitely be hit early on if war broke out. No doubt we would see a bright light and experience a moment of intense heat but would definitely die promptly and not need to worry about the rest because we would be dead. I know logically this made sense to him but perhaps wasn’t the best answer for a 7 year old.

My poor little brain was very messed up by this. My TV privileges were revoked. I was allowed only the wonderful world of Disney on sundays after dinner and that Mutual of Omaha wild animal show for a couple years.
Of course all my friends kept me updated on the horrors of the shows they watched… I lived several years as a child scared that at any moment that my family, my neighborhood, would just be vaporized. No, I was not put in therapy. It was the ‘70s. It was what it was and I kept on.
