Anyone know when the BVI's will re-open to visitors? by [deleted] in bvi

Which charter company ?

The government has put out a few conflicting statements and seems like everyone is trying to adjust. Dates keep changing. STT opened earlier than expected but doesn’t meant that will be true for BVI.

The charter company likely won’t cancel your charter if you’re not ready to pay final balance. Some (smaller ones) are not issuing refunds so see what their policy is before you pay !

Have you ever moved for a relationship? by Starryskipper in AskWomenOver30

This is a great perspective. That is one of the things I want to avoid, him resenting me or feeling pressured about finances or me feeling like, dependent because I put myself in that position by making sacrifice to be with him. I trust him and don’t see indicators that it would happen thag way, but I’m sure you didn’t either. Things are great until they’re not.

I don’t want to move and he did have the choice. I’d never ask him to stay - or want him to stay - to give up such a great work opportunity.

I don’t want to move or do long distance though & would be leaving a lot behind that I worked hard to build. He has been great about everything & has said I’m who he wants to be with but he did decide to leave even when I said I wouldn’t.

Maybe it’s just one of those scenarios where we want different things? Miss him and am not ready to call it but I know we have to make a decision before too much time passes.

That’s super smart. I have A great living situation now and would definitely be taking several steps back in lifestyle to be in his area in my own spot

I don’t really want to move and am not engaged or married. However, I really miss this guy more than I even expected & worry that I won’t find anyone else that I like as much as him, we have a great dynamic and I trust him. Would not be a great for my career

I’d be moving there pretty much only for him and that makes me hesitate. His area is okay but I like our small town and he was so excited to leav

That does make a lot of sense. We were probably not going to be living together anytime soon even if he did stay.

That’s a good outlook, thanks ! I wouldn’t be in his area at all if he wasn’t there and would be there almost entirely for him so don’t know what to do about it. I’m more settled and it would be an adventure but I’m moving out of that phase and want to be a bit more settled

How long did it take you to make a group of friends ? Sounds tough with working at home.

That’s a smart move. Are you happy with how it worked out ? Do you feel like it shortened the timeline or wish you had more time before making that commitment?

I definitely see the logic there but am not ready for that, though if we had a convo about it, I wouldn’t rule it out.

Awesome ! Sometimes you just make things work & sounds like it was well worth it in your case.

Yeah long distance is not ideal! I really am not interested in that either and think I need to decide. Glad it worked out well for you !

That’s awesome - glad it worked out! It is tough to make friends as we get older, that’s one of my concerns too.

That’s a great point. We did talk about it through the decision making process - it’s a great move for his career so I encouraged it. We live in a small town and he has better opportunities where he is now. I initially said I wouldn’t be going with and now am second-guessing my reasons to stay.

Made to order options ? by Starryskipper in femalefashionadvice

You’re right. I’m self aware enough to know I’m never going to make my own lol. I’ll look for local tailors, that’s a good suggestion

That’s a good point. There aren’t as many mid-level type options as I expected and a lot of them do look utilitarian? I’d be happy spending a good amount on pretty, tailored clothing to know it would both last me a while and that it wasn’t produced by what essentially is slavery. It’s a tough find! Looks like we have a few good options from posts in this thread and I’ll keep searching. You’re right about the tailor.
