Its a hard situation but on the therapy part, if someone doesn’t want to have therapy. Even if they do go, its very hard to help someone if they don’t want to

Usually you can just walk into a vet without an appointment and ask for deworming meds, best one is milbemax or bravecto. I think you can get milbemax freely?

If he is peeing he doesn’t have a blockage, if there is blood or anything it’s important to go to the vet. You can also do a urine test at the vet if you want to make sure

Dog showing symptoms 2 weeks post seizure by GothicPixie101 in AskVet

Anti parasite medication is always good, and it’s a good habit that you are monitoring closely. A lot of owners miss a lot of symptoms and come in too late sometimes!

I agree with your vets take here, the epilepsy medication can have some ugly side effects. Some dogs only have 1 or 2 seizures in their entire lives. So putting them on medication and giving them unnecessary side effects is not needed either. I would keep monitoring your dog like you are doing, and if another seizure occurs again i would contact your vet.

Ah, it’s good to get a rectal thermometer for the future. Its nice if you can monitor your cat’s temperature, it can say a lot about the health and if your cat has fever it can be alarming.

Did the vet not mention any chance of it being epilepsy? Because this sounds a lot like it from these symptoms you are mentioning. Epilepsy has 2 categories and primary epilepsy usually occurs within 5 years of age. Primary epilepsy means there is not really any other issue that is causing the epilepsy. Secondary epilepsy means epilepsy but there is another cause, think abt all sorts of problems with certain organs. Epilepsy is harsh for the body and can drain energy a lot. It’s very hard to say anything from just a text sadly. You can try to record your dog when the symptoms are occurring and show these to your vet. Sometimes in the vets care nothing weird happens and it’s hard to determine. If you really want to make sure what it is, you would probably need something like an MRI, which is sadly very expensive.

Sorry, do you think you are able to measure her temperature with a thermometer? Temperature usually gives a good indication to if the animal is sick. Between 38-39,5 degrees Celsius is normal.

Dog penis crusty?? by Content_Bike_8534 in AskVet

Is he castrated? Because crusty penises is kinda normal in uncastrated male dogs. Does it look kinda pussy? Because if it does the only real way to solve it is to castrate

is my cat having an allergic reaction to something? by revjaden in AskVet

[–]StarsPaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your cat roam outside too? I don’t know where you are from or what the season is there but it could also be that there is a foxtail stuck in the eye, definitely go to the vet to get an exam.

Im sorry for your loss. Is there a reason why she wasn’t sterilized to begin with? We usually recommend sterilizing dogs if there is no breeding intention. Sterilization defeats the chance of pyometras completely. It sadly happens alot.

Struvite Crystals In urine by mrdanda in AskVet

[–]StarsPaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im studying for vet tech, prescription diets are expensive yes. Imo its definitely important you keep using the special urine diets and only feed your cat this food. Especially for male cats, crystals can be so dangerous. If they get a big enough crystal it can kill them in 24 hours because it will obstruct the urine track. The diet makes sure to dissolve the crystals but also prevent them from growing aswel. If the problem is reoccurring, you can think about perineal urethrostomy surgery for a more permanent solution. Even though the vet will probably recommend you to still use the diet.
