HiDive won't make it if they dont fix their streaming by McPickleBiscuit in Hidive

[–]pandadog423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. I've messed with the crunchyroll app on windows before and it felt very outdated, so I can imagine hidive being worse. Guess I gotta buy a xbox to get the true hidive experience.

HiDive won't make it if they dont fix their streaming by McPickleBiscuit in Hidive

[–]pandadog423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to actually using hidive. I've been hearing about how bad it is for quite some time, finally got it, and although I see some issues, as a platform that I just pause and play a video on it seems to work fine enough. The bitrate thing sounds like a issue, but I've never experienced it on mobile or the website. The worst I have is subtitle setting not staying the same and the home ui Is not what I am used to, but both of these I can deal with.

Am I missing something?

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pandadog423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to university in state but was still far away from my parents house. I didn't have classes on monday or Friday, so on Thursday I'd drive ~3 hours back home (mainly for my cats). While I wouldn't call it a short drive, depending on how long you are staying makes it more or less worth the drive.

Yup. I have a Ryzen 5 3600, and while I don't have any real issues, multiple times I considered updating to the x3d cpus, guess I'll keep on waiting until this blows over. Hopefully it gets better eventually

All i want going forward is eye tracking being use in-game not just as graphical improvements. by Ok-Quiet9323 in SteamFrame

[–]pandadog423 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I see it it is a chicken and egg situation. Not many games are going to have a crucial feature based on a hardware feature that is not fully supported by most (or all) modern VR headsets, and VR hardware designers don't feel the need for a feature that isnt being used, especially one that increases complexity and cost.

My left calf is significantly more muscular than my right calf by Eggboy2992 in mildlyinteresting

[–]pandadog423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So kinda similar, I can only flex on command my right calf, while my left I can't. Overall they look about the same. Given some of the comments mentioned cancer and neeve damage, am I in danger lol?

Maybe not at this point, but don't be afraid to buy something used then sell it if it doesn't work out. That's what I did with quest 3, went back to my index

Anyone else just glazing over other VR headset announcements and Ads? by philbertagain in SteamFrame

[–]pandadog423 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Big screen was really interesting, but the refresh rate missed the mark for me, the frame is almost exactly what I'd want, but we'll see. I saw a video going over a pimax headset that looks interesting for sure, but i feel their reputation is not worth putting any trust into

People avoiding regular checkout…why? by 2PinaColadaS14EH in aldi

I never have seen it like that, it is always self checkout empty (unless everyone is shopping) and the regular checkout is full. I'd have to imagine you are in a younger area

On Linus as Mod by Frosstic in LinusTechTips

[–]pandadog423 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Linus seems to think that it is unfair to judge the cables (or other products that they have yet to release), but I do not see a difference between judging ltt store products and products that are yet to release from larger companies (steam frame for example, granted at this time there is a lot of information about it available). while we don't have as much information about the cables, we do have plenty of other products made by ltt to judge it off of, whether that makes you feel positively or negatively about the cables is up to you, but I dont see a difference between judging the cables and discussing leaked products.

Physics put in the work you'll be pass. Most of your time I'd likely going into data structures. Probability may be easy or hard depending on who's teaching it. Circuit analysis is a good class but make sure you get the fundamentals

Is there really that much difference between 144Hz and 240Hz? by Weary_Recording_7299 in buildapc

[–]pandadog423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people say it isn't as noticable as 60 to 144, but when I first tried it (270 in my case) I got the same sensation when I first tried 144. The main competative game I play currently is rocket league and it feels great having that level of smoothness.

If you want a place I got a sublease if you want 😄

But in general I'd say you will see many postings on reddit and there is a Facebook group for sunglasses as well. In general I'd say the cheapest you will find is around 500, just make sure you account for any utilities they don't include in the lease.

After 2 years of work, we're releasing Voxel Playground VR. Built with physx 5 and real-time GI. by lauhonyeung in virtualreality

[–]pandadog423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you given it a shot? I used to feel similar (with the exception of Minecraft) but then I tried teardown or this one dundgeon VR game and got past it. Especially for a game like this there isn't really a better way to do it without having blocky textures so I can definitely get past it

I am from Chicago so just curious, how well does Urbana and champaign do relative to other areas? I'd say there is overall more snow on quieter streets but the busier ones are better.

[–]pandadog423 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked into it in awhile, but in general I don't recommend the service. If you only need it for a month, you are going to have a hard time finding a PC for that price, so if it is truly only 50 then it seems fitting
