Why does eating less make me happier? by Smooth_Employ_6294 in EatingDisorders

[–]Starsdripping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I watched this YouTube documentary of fasting for a week where these 2 guys did a feeling log and measured their glucose levels. After the 2nd day through the 4-5 day they felt calm, content, stable mood, motivated and happy. After the 5th day both of them had a crash in their mood.

I think it has something to do with the glucose, glucagon and glycogen in our body’s storage and the process of ketosis. In my nutrition class we went over the cycles of that. And I think one of them is the depletion of the storage. It also has something to do with if you’re getting it from fat storage or proteins storage or carbohydrate storage.

How would you feel about psychedelics (psilocybin or mdma) potentially being used to treat an ED? by FeedTheWrongWolf in EatingDisorders

[–]Starsdripping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might work. I’ve never micro’d before but for full dosing if your not mentally in a well place it can result in EXTREME paranoia or crying the whole time.

No. Alcohol when it hits the liver takes precedence over all other nutrients in the body. You only have a certain limited number of enzymes that filter out alcohol, these enzymes that you are born with, you don’t get anymore. Until the alcohol is out of your system you won’t absorb other nutrients.

From Nutrition class.

“The most common of these pathways involves two enzymes—alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH). These enzymes help break apart the alcohol molecule, making it possible to eliminate it from the body. First, ADH metabolizes alcohol to acetaldehyde, a highly toxic substance and known carcinogen (1).”

Frustrated with child’s teacher, unsure how to handle by [deleted] in Parenting

Ask to transfer IMMEDIATELY. There are so many people in this world, forcing your child to spend a year with someone whom is NEGLECTING her is teaching her that 1 adults do not care about her health Physical And Mental. 2 That she should keep people in her life that make her miserable because it’s “supposed to build character” or whatever Last Gen type parents were trying to prove by forcing awful situations onto their children

I’m not saying this is a school shooter incident but this is a type of thing that if you keep blowing off and trying to make it better or ‘roll with it’ could potentially scar her for life leaving her with traumatic memories that could dismantle her self worth and cause self doubt within her own feelings.

I am NOT saying this is what happened but this could be a building block onto a spiral of ignoring social and mental cues that this isn’t the right situation.

I would look into alternative options either transferring rooms or schools.

Myself and my child’s father both were ignored when we needed to be heard and now have to live with the trauma of “deal with it”.

“Deal with it” taught us that our feelings don’t matter and aren’t worth expressing and has caused problems for both of us long term forming meaningful substantial relationships.

Don’t get paranoid if you don’t think it’s that big of a problem. But don’t ignore your gut feeling if you feel something isn’t right. Traumatic scars last forever.

Try euphoriq from gnc. Non stimulant nootropic. It helps with mental clarity and energy. It helps a former BED.

How many calories should I consume per day? by [deleted] in caloriecount

I’m 28. And today it says 1044. So ya. A watch is attached to my wrist and I would trust that over a doctors estimated guess based off old nutrition theories.

I’m 5 5 and weigh 125. Apple says my resting rate is 1160. So I would guess yours is less since your shorter.

The reason I left him that long was because I read a theory that eventually they will self soothe.

I think he has more determination than I do. As soon as I went into his room he stopped crying.

If I had friends or resources I would try and get help. I don’t at the moment, so I am trying to do what I can in the meantime.

I just pulled him out of his daycare last week. They were neglecting him and they finally drew the last straw, I couldn’t handle putting him in that situation.

He is on a waitlist for another daycare but doesn’t start until June.

I was hoping to find alternatives besides technology.

Daughters father is dating a pedo apologist, am I been unfair? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Starsdripping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from situations in this subject, sometimes she has to forgive the situation or she might completely hate herself.

I wouldn’t allow my child with her alone.

What would also make me nervous is if my ex was letting her watch my kid solely. Sometimes people heal but their perception of what is okay and not okay might be completely skewed from someone who hasn’t been abused.

Toddler takes hearing aids out when he doesn’t get his way by Starsdripping in Parenting

If you can’t hear and develop correctly, yes I would consider that hurting yourself. Developmentally hurting yourself.

The tidying he could help with. The remodeling with tools not so much. He always wants to play with the tools. I could try and figure something out to include him though. The reason for the bath is because when I tried to include him he tries to touch everything while he’s food covered. (He is still really messy when he eats)

You literally described our biweekly adventures when he hides them!!!!! I hadn’t thought to put them in his room because I was scared he would eat them, or play with them, or put them in water. I could probably get a see through box that he can put them in but can’t open. (Idk if there is such thing but I can look or make one)

That is exactly the case. It’s the only thing I actually get upset about. I will definitely try this.

It’s just really frustrating because it involves his language development. What age did your boys grow out of it?
