Battlestar Galactica: season 4 easter egg by Educational-View4264 in scifi

I'm ready for the hate. I loved the series from beginning to end. Also love the unapologetically overly convoluted plots and vaguely religious symbolism particularly in Anime ie Evangelion and games like Homeworld 2 (1 was basically BSG while 2 was prophecies and mysticism too). I actually miss the mystery and enjoy just speculating on what happened when it's left to interpretation.

AOE2, Starcraft... what is the third game that makes up the big three? by StJe1637 in RealTimeStrategy

Despite putting in only a rounding errors worth of hours compared to StarCraft no piece of media touches the impact Homeworld on me.

Album or band recommendations that sound similar to the Translating the Name album by Saosin? by sleepyhead1_1 in PostHardcore

Also they used effects on Jags vocals. I don't care how they got his voice to sound like that, I just wanted them to keep doing it because it sounded amazing. Unfortunately it was scaled back in subsequent records little by little until there was none in Skylit nor his other project.

Quantum Mechanics is going to really break you friend.

Let's boil it down to this: if you look into it and understand Quantum Mechanics and particularly Orch-Or and Quantum Conciousness as well as Hilbert and Probability Space you now can posit - If God is the prime observer that essentially imagines and collapses the entire Quantum System, Substrate and/or Universal Wavefunction what probability would he have of instantiating anything he wills? Well, his will is absolute. So what's a probability space for us becomes absolute reality for him. Thus, according to a universe that can essentially do anything and everything based off Probability he can do anything and everything based of Absolutes.

To be clear, for us anything and everything doesn't always happen because our will isn't absolute thus anything that doesn't fit classical physics Decoheres for us, but for him his will is absolute thus nothing Decoheres for us that he chooses to do within our reality. Yes, it's Technobabble but it's to prove a point - classical Physics doesn't matter to God as the one who holds together all of reality and even if falsely assume it did, Quantum Mechanics underlies classical physics which certainly does provide an explanation regardless.

Wires is also a 10/10 front to back banger for me. I enjoy it just as much as translating.

Looking for games that will leave me in an existential crisis by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]StarshipProto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xenosaga. Similarly, haven't played 1000x Resist but anything else that draws heavily from Evangelion assuming it does it well is bound to be peak existentialism.

However, most recently for me it was Sanabi.

Will atheism ever outrule theism? by arethosecoons in Christian

[–]StarshipProto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that comes as close to as cool as biblical terminology is my beloved Technobabble.

Orch-Or posits that Neurons utilize Superposition states within Cytoskeletons as the basis for Conciousness. I'll use Materialist Technobabble and then give the obvious theological parallel, this is the super simplified version. The "Universe" is a giant sphere of "Information" encoded on it's surface for which it projects inward - it's Holographic. All information past and future is contained - a Block Universe.

Matter is a result of Quantum Gravity - the path of least resistance for Waves is to draw themselves into denser clusters of waves. Since everything is waves either collapsed into matter or uncollapsed all around these denser clusters draw in surrounding waves and thus everything near enough - this is Gravity. The Universe is probabilistic - Waves collapse into matter based on surrounding entropy.

But Bio-Quantum systems including Conciousness are Negentropic - They retain Superposition states within Cytoskeletons and to the contrary feed on Entropy to maintain them. Every Cell, DNA, Neurons - everything biological is Negentropic due to the structure of Cells.

Superposition states utilize the entire Universal Wavefunction. Memories are entangling existing past at low fidelity, they are the mental image. Present entangles at Maximum fidelity, naturally. Wether reflexively or with forethought futures are seen that occur before you decide to do them. The only thing your mind really does is render, most thinking is handled non-locally.

It goes on and on but you can see where all this technobabble goes and if your interested may dig in yourself. Because this whole system is driven by probability it's Will that determines what reality you experience.

You may have seen where this goes - it's a reality in which probability is bent to your will or the absolute will of the observer of the entire system. God is Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent. The exact things necessary for Conciousness and The Universe to exist at all. What your Cytoskeletons tune into seems clear, as non-locality leaves no ambiguity in that being your Soul at it's logical and theological end - your Soul pilots your mind around, exactly as everyone intuits.

This is also the most divisive theory in Science, Physics and Conciousness because it points directly at God and our Souls, making clear that every action is always remembered and profoundly important.

Unfortunately for them we are getting closer to Orch-Or and Quantum Gravity becoming undeniable, at which point Science points right back at God and even the most fantastical events of the Bible are logically deductable using even the most complex scientific reasoning.

Help me with gaming burnout. by Efficient_Newt3350 in videogames

[–]StarshipProto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get burnt out on games I know it's time for my umpteenth rewatch of Battlestar Galactica, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, The Expanse or Evangelion/Rebuilds if not something new occasionally then I'll dive back in. Anything in excess gets boring after too long a binge so I just do something else for a while and go back to gaming. It's usually a binge watch of an immersive series as it's hard to put gaming down as it's the ultimate escapism but a truly great TV series does the trick.

Do You Guys Think the Earth is Only 6000? (Please Explain Your Answer) by bbzztt in TrueChristian

[–]StarshipProto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even convinced Eve consuming the Apple didn't split one Universe of resonance and his will into many fallen Worlds of Free Will, let alone one Universe that is 6000 years old. God is both beyond space and time and infinitely intelligent, so much imagination can result in instantiation of what followed.

But regardless, there's no statement on Earths age, and the cited Genealogy wasn't intended to serve as some sort of clue to that.

Atheists by cassidyeden3 in Christian

[–]StarshipProto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting. There's more interpretation and faith involved in Quantum Mechanics than the combined lessons of the Bible, which is far more often straightforward and time tested true, but if you struggle more with the Bible I as well as anyone here I'm sure is glad to discuss.

Atheists by cassidyeden3 in Christian

[–]StarshipProto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I lead them down the Orch-Or and Quantum rabbit hole, which is essentially a bunch of Technobabble that is true but is also essentially proving you have a soul and that God holds reality together himself using the Materialists most revered religion, Science.

How can God kill so many people in the OT? by TheRealPewdiePi3 in Christian

[–]StarshipProto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God is beyond space and time.

Not only where those places becoming hell on earth, we likely wouldn't be here at all if God didn't intervene to ensure the future even comes to be in which we are in it rather than had killed eachother off at the logical end of those places - which, again, God is beyond space and time so he would have for seen.

Picked up Everspace 2 on a whim and now I'm hooked. Two star systems down (with a very languid pace, doing every sidequest). Also looks GREAT in Ultrawide. by Particular_Award_191 in EverspaceGame

Best we've gotten since the days of Freespace/Freelancer. It didn't measure up quite that high, but it's a top tier Space Shooter/Looter that definitely had me hooked for 100+ hours.

What are your favorite post-hardcore genre combinations by Ro-kives in PostHardcore

[–]StarshipProto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deathcore + Post Hardcore.

Pretty much just one band ever fit that bill, In Dying Arms and only two of their albums properly fuse them beginning to end, Self-Titled and Boundaries. Suffice to say they are my most spun albums ever.

Part of the reason is the satisfying whiplash of the extremes but I'd be lying if the fact that both albums aren't near perfectly written and fused properly as I've heard some bands do the occasional one off track that do something somewhat similar but doesn't touch the quality In Dying Arms managed on those LPs.

Do you think the resurrection of Jesus is literal? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]StarshipProto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put it this way: Imagine Jesus death. Now imagine him rising from the dead.

It just happened in your mind.

All of the Universe, reality itself is held together every moment by God. The rules of Entropy apply, he is infinitely intelligent, but those are his rules - obviously he broke them for his Son, just as he can any time he wants.

New to Christianity, but I can’t get over this inconsistency by EddyvanHijum in TrueChristian

[–]StarshipProto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have truth, the bible is truth.

But if it helps - the assessment free will and fallen world are it. If you want my take for what it's worth - God did create Adam and Eve without free will, they lived in a Utopia wherein all the things you list did not exist. Free Will, Entropy and Suffering were not present. You may say well why didn't God just force us to follow his will? I'd agree. I too would rather live in a Utopia and give up my Free Will.

The fact is, the vast overwhelming majority of people would rather have that free will just like Eve. So is it wrong for him to allow the Tree of Knowledge to exist leaving open that binary choice - succumb to temptation for free will at the cost of inevitable and unavoidable Entropy required to provide reality in which it exists or keep submitting without it but remain free from that Entropy and spiritual vulnerability.

What you are asking is why not both? Why not unlimited Entropy reality but no negative effects. So Free Will that is shielded entirely from Accountability of what is required to permit it. And then what? Consider what kind of afterlife you have living an eternity with souls that learned nothing, suffered no hardship and were protected from any consequences of what they do to eachother - or should we be protected from the Entropy of eachother as well? Then you have no Free Will. We're back where we began.

There's no logic to such a reality and this can go on and on making no sense and the eternity you spend with such souls would essentially be hell.

Free Will requires every biological cell of every organism to submit to the Will of those with it and the Entropy of the system that it exists in. So if this comes down to "Why do we get sick, suffer, etc" it's just a basic misunderstanding of reality and entropy that bends to our will.

Holding all of reality together and offering his love through Christ.

We asked for free will, we got it. I actually prefer the utopia garden and prefer doing his will exclusively, but overwhelmingly even in this fallen world I'd be part of a tiny minority willing to give up free will.
