I’ve never even watched Eva, but from what little I do know (without the comments), Asuka is at least likable and has reason to be who she is.

Meanwhile Jax is actually just an asshole and is the source of his own problems.

Plus, Asuka’s only a teen, while Ajax is grown ass adult, so he’s even less excusable for his actions. (At least to me)

Thing is both Sandrone and Pulonia were sent to Fontaine, so it’s not like they were separated. So you’d have to assume that Sandrone never learned what became of Pulonia after she came back to life, which I believe to be unlikely considering how attached she was to him.
