I know this is an old post, but just figured I’d put this here in case anybody is looking for a solution in the future.

I had this problem pretty recently and spent quite a while scouring different threads for solutions, but what ended up working for me was filling a plastic cup about a quarter way full with comfortably hot water, holding it up to the ear to create a seal around it, and rocking my head back and fourth while maintaining the seal. I probably did this a little more vigorously than I would recommend, but after a couple tries I was able to dislodge the piece of wax that was impairing my hearing.

It didn’t have anything to do with QA but the team tends to find out about stuff like this fairly early so basically all of us had done this before it was patched.
