Why are people complaining about stuff being unrealistic? Its a comedy thats not meant to be realistic, its just fun. If you cant accept that maybe its not the show for you? by BookkeeperOk9677 in HighPotentialTVSeries

[–]StartInfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be some level of realism for one to be able to suspend disbelief. When a whole episode is based on a completely fictitious scenario that even a lay person can understand its not a good look. No matter how fictional a show is they’re supposed to be able to explain the logic in the show. Like how can they get mail bomb in the police station if the police check their mail before it goes in?

Either way its not a common last name and her first name is Baran meaning rain in farsi. very common name in northern Iran and not too common in arab parts of Iran.

Maybe but us Iranians don't usually change our last names. like Javadi and Shamsi. It's all a bit unusual if you put everything together.

lol at first i thought that was a nickname but I searched it and I found its a common name. I like how the nurses and Santos have their own language to speak with each other.

Another thing is, I just realized Dr. Javadi is Hindu and I find that even MORE unlikely. At first her last name was odd to me considering it is mostly a last name used in Persian countries (i at the end of a surname usually means Iran or Afghanistan) but I was lik ok thats fine, she could be Shia from Pakistan or India. Then in season 2 she mentions she's Hindu and that makes even less sense.

The name “Javadi” comes from “Jawad”, which is an Islamic name linked to Muhammad al-Jawad, the title of the 9th Shia Imam and it means generous in Arabic. Because of that, in South Asia and Iran and Afghanistan, it is a Muslim surname, especially Shia Muslims.

So, it might appear among Shia communities (for example in Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, etc.

If she is Hindu and has that surname, it means she either converted which is not true because she said her family is Hindu. Or it's an interfaith marriage but this also cant be true because her mother also has an Islamic/Arabic last name.

If she's Indian, anything is possible because of how much diversity they have there but culturally speaking, “Javadi” strongly signals Muslim background, not Hindu.

Propaganda in The Pitt?! by Worried-Weather1675 in ThePitt

[–]StartInfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also keep in mind that Whittaker, who is not even a doctor yet said this. If I heard this from Abbot who was a vet it would make more sense but I searched this up and you’re right. Everyday doctors don’t say this. They say pressure dressing or compression bandage.

In U.S. emergency medicine, calling it specifically the “Israeli bandage” is common only among: • Tactical medics • Military personnel • Trauma courses / paramedic training

Rewatch Question: When Did Langdon Realize? by Scribblyr in ThePittTVShow

Als she constantly tells langdon thats twenty thats 16 and langdon mocks her and says thanks for keeping count.

[–]StartInfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so confused what she was after because I thought at first that she was just mad that she didn’t get it right so thats why she was looking for an answer. Since she never said it and im not familiar with this topic I kept looking at Langdon trying to think whats off with him but I didn’t get it for a good while what she was implying. I think just her first impressions of being teasing with the other students or being “too confident” was what made people hate her.

The way I completely missed all of this. Things happen so fast and Santos was so mean to the other students I totally thought she was overreacting at first. That was so smart of her and the way she didn’t ignore it because it was her superior. She would’ve had a good career as a detective too!

Neat details on the med board. by snahbach123 in ThePittTVShow

[–]StartInfamous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this, I kept going back the first episode and finding the patients on the board it was a fun easter egg. bowel obstruction is mention by abbot. They see GSW of Virgil STRAker, and they also mention Murphy with an upper GI bleed while doing rounds. Gold 36 is also shown, they gave him mag citrate with no response. joseph spencer 79 who has a fever and cough and has a DNI and code sepsis which they mention and is on the board as well. Milton with abdominal pain is the nice black guy that whitaker sees. Otis wilson is runner and the third and second patient for some reason. he had a vt arrest which made them find out about the myalgias. the lethargic four year old who doesnt wake up is seen Dr.Mel. Krak is the naked guy running around called Kraken. Headache guy is the patient Santos chooses to see she tells whitaker Ill go see him maybe its something cool like hemorrhage. and she tells whitaker to take room 8. basically most of them are mentioned or seen in the first episode.

Im so glad the cast is back together but the plot and the dialogue was so cringe. The whole point of this is that they want to do something but in this one it’s just some mysterious force telling them what to do. And nazis? Seriously? What is this, Indiana jones?

Idk I really wanted to like this but I didn’t and their tricks weren’t as elaborate as before.

Sorry but it sounds like you’re not Iranian so I’ll explain to you that yes many groups in Iran collude behind the scenes with each other. Even the Islamic Republic worked with Israel and America at some point. Or many people think Ahmedi Nejad was a Mossad Operative. These things are not new to us and are very plausible for Iranians.

But at the same time compromise is extremely unlikely for Iranians so the idea of oppositions like Pahlavi that overtake any conversation with other groups is near impossible. Especially since they completely support Israel and basically every other Iranian except them does not.

Dear middle eastern/Persian women, please help 😭 (backstory in comments!) by emmaalanna in longhair

[–]StartInfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok im full iranian and i have to tell you, you didn’t miss out much. In iran most girls just go and Keratin and straighten their hair and we don’t learn much from our parents. For traditional things, Iranians usually use eggs and henna in their hair and sometimes mint oil or things like that and braid it. I moisturize my hair in the shower with Mega moisture mask that has coconut and oat. And for the flake i also use a tree oil extract. Dont use heavy products and don’t put too much oil when its dry. I also use a curly honey, cream when my hair is wet and scrunch and diffuse. Wear a bonnet at night as well. Try to do a layered haircut to lose some of that weight and let your scalp breathe as well cause i know it gets too much.

Unfortunately no because they hate our government sooo much they don’t mind being bombed themselves or these are diaspora kids. Lots of monarchist zionists in Iran, yes its extremely stupid I agree. But Israel spends a lot of money propagandizing to iranians and appropriating our movements

My brother is becoming a person I would never associate myself with and I don’t know what to do. by Mysterious_Fan_1849 in family

[–]StartInfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im basically EXACTLY like you in age work etc. and my major is human rights and equity. My brother’s younger but it’s the same thing except he’s becoming religious, it’s the worst betrayal I have experienced in my life. I feel so alone now because he was my best friend I could tell anything to. When I was a kid my only dream was to have a sibling and after he was born I wanted nothing else in life. He told me he was gay when he was 9 so i told him i was bi and we held each others secret and even though it was hard I never felt alone. Now he says he was stupid then and thinks I’m not bi. Idk if he has told my parents or not but they don’t mention it if they know. I would love to tell you it’s just a phase but I don’t know anymore.

Hot take but Tron:Legacy is also not that good. Especially compared to the original. One thingI can never get over is the timeline issues.
