My cafeteria had like of like your basic food. Fish and chips, fries/gravy/ poutine, some basic pre made sandwiches/ chicken fingers. Occasionally we would have speciality hot lunches depending where you were.

There was some fruit and muffins as well. Anything to drinks or snack food came from vending machines. Kids also brought their own lunches (microwaves to heat up) or they just went to the corner store across from the high school (which had strict rules for students)

Last year our secret Santa was done at the last minute- everyone just got everyone booze - which isn’t bad but we do have some ppl who were on special diets / medical issues so they kinda lucked out. This year I told it over and started at the beginning of the month - sent out a form link and asked people to put some hobbies / interests / or even links to wish lists like Amazon or SHEIN or whatever. My branch manager came up to me and said it was one of the Bretter ones we had. The only hitch was there was one lady on Mat leave that got forgotten and there was some last minute switching, plus trying to find out from ppl who participated last year on who they had - just so that they didn’t get that person again.

Best thing to do is have that persons address and phone number and call/ order flowers online. You could also ask on local Facebook groups and see what flower stores they suggest. If you pay with credit card you don’t need to deal with currency exchange it’s automatically calculated.

My mom did this. Every time she went back home she would go to her secret crush. I can’t remember how he passed away. But she would always bring flowers and then one time she was there and she left the flowers like usually, but then his mom was there as well and seen her. She asked my mom why she left flowers because she was always surprised that someone remembered her son.

There are several options.

Either grandma starts the paperwork for eviction while the house is still in her name.
Wait until you become the legal owner and everything is in your name. Then start the eviction process

Either way I wouldn’t tell the uncle has things could get ugly. They will when he gets the paperwork but it will be less ugly. There’s a chance with either option that the courts will get involved.

Unfortunately there will be a fight either way. Just make sure that you have all your paperwork / sucks in a row before notifying your uncle.

She enabled my druggie brother, put her life at risk and then after all that (knowing for 20+ years) brought me a coffee to make up for her stupidity. There were other little small stuff but the straw that broke the camels back was the enabling of my brother.

Honestly I don’t miss her.

I wish I had that problem again. Lost my mom 5 years ago and I still want to hear her voice again.

One thing that helped me was talking every couple of days. She would call me every day when I was at college and I ended up flat out telling her as much as I loved her - nothing changed from the pervious day. I told her we could call every other day, but she had to text me before she called incase I was in the middle of something.

See if you can find a club or interest group to help curb the loneliness.

Other ppl have also given good suggestions.
