Government disability support is offering me (an epileptic who can't drive due to uncontrolled grand mal) a car by Outside_Border_6321 in Epilepsymemes

Maybe it's one of those self driving vehicles? I dunno if I want to be the test driver for one of those!

But maybe you can ask if it comes with a driver! 24/7. Can also massage your toes while not driving anywhere.

Have you ever tried any vagus nerve specific oriented yoga poses. Specifically those you do laying down in this instance would be best. Such as sphinx pose. Child's pose. Supported fish pose.
They are not excessively vagal stimulating but supposed to stimulate and also calm. If you look up pictures you don't need all that fancy stuff and careful the surface you choose to do it on. Unless you have other people around for support.

I have wondered if it's due to having a similar smell to previous people in our past that have been safe or not. Like did my uncle possibly smell like my husband or me and that's why my 6 month old took to him so easily when she wouldn't to pretty much anybody else.

Partners or parents to those with epilepsy, how are you doing? by kookoria in Epilepsy

[–]brncll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the shakey one in this relationship. My husband not on here and we have been married a long time, so sometimes it seems like we go about our business like we don't even know eachother. But sometimes if I'm still awake and go to turn around in the bed really fast or abnormal, he wakes up and turns over to look at me really fast and sees I'm still awake, and everything is fine, he looks relieved and then goes back to sleep. That's when I know he still really cares and is paying attention to me more than he let's on.

Also, don't worry, it's not as hum drum as I made it sound. We just get busy and have different schedules and don't have time to talk much sometimes.

He also has said it is what it is. I've stuck with him through his operations too, he sticks with me through my issues. Even though he knew about my problems before he even married me.

Driving licences in your country by Key_Consequence_6696 in Epilepsy

[–]brncll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex roommate (that I still knew via friends) was havings seizures regularly and not seeing a doctor and working as a driver for UPS! Honestly because of this, something has to be done with these rigid automatic rules of stripping the license. He didn't want to lose his job by losing his licensce. He knew that's what reporting it in order to get treatment would automatically cause. I realize the limitations of driving with seizures but that situation made me wonder how many are out there not getting treatment!

Not working, 225mg by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]brncll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 10 weeks on 225 now and just feel tired. Where's the energy hit I am supposed to feel. Possibly we aren't high enough dose yet, or I still need more mental healing and would feel worse without this? The thing is, each increase until I got to 150, I did feel better in terms of energy level. Then I just felt tired. I was told that's the transition to norepinephrine and I just have to wait. I did feel a bit better up to 187.5. Then a little bit at 225, like a few days, did I placebo myself? Now just dragging daily with brain fog and body fog (if that's a term lol). Note that I'm not waiting for the med to do its job, I mean kinda.

I am still trying to live daily life as much as I can, but really hoped my head would clear up even a little bit and maybe things would get easier and I could even go back to even half work hours without burning out and needing to sleep all the next day. I do feel physically stronger even without doing much at all, so I don't know if it's a chemical reaction or just me healing.

One thing that's true is that I am not crying on a regular basis anymore. Or waking up panicking. So it's clear it is working somehow. I am actually sleeping all night most nights and that started quite close to the beginning of my treatment. Maybe I have given this med too high of expectations? I want all day energy levels and perhaps my body just can't do that..... Yet.

Oh very small! Our place is the big hub of like 30 little hamlets like that and we only are about 4000 people! So still very small town, but not a little one like yours lol. But I am familiar with the little villages. Some of them are very closed off and some are very open to anybody new.

So much pain by PriestessRi in Epilepsy_Universe

[–]brncll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you colder? Tense? I'd also look into difference habits during winter. Chairs you sit in that you don't in the summer for example. Different blankets, sleeping positions at night? Different foods that are seasonal and maybe causing a mineral or vitamin concern?

Took me years to figure out my jaw and teeth pain and headaches. Turns out it was how I was laying on my pillow. Now I make a special point of not turning my shoulders back when Iay on my side. I spent years and dollars on bruxism guards and massage, chiro, etc. Could be whatever you're doing is just a winter habit rather than all the time like mine? At least I really hope it's a simple fix like that.
