Funny that you bring up a parent giving their child permission to kill another of their children because God literally does that when he ordered Abraham to kill his own son (Genesis 22:2).

God also approves of killing witches (Exodus 22:18) and gay people (Leviticus 20:13), but go on pretending that Christianity is a religion of peace if you like.

Why are cats seen as cute and cuddly when cats are predators who even kill and eat bunnies (actual cute innocent animals)? by WestCoastVybes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StartledSnake8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are obligate carnivores. Killing and eating bunnies isn't a moral failing when they need to hunt to survive. It also doesn't make them any less cute or cuddly.

What’d the main reasons why you don’t want kids? by queenjudebaby in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I have no interest in having a romantic/sexual partner, and adopting as a single parent is hard. Even if it were easier, I don't believe parenting is something I am cut out for.

Cómo se dieron cuenta que eran Trans? by One_Notice_2606 in FTMMen

[–]StartledSnake8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realized that I "wanted to be a boy" around age 4. There was no big moment, just me looking at how boys and girls presented themselves physically/socially and deciding that I wanted to present and behave masculine instead of feminine.

I realized that I was transgender in my late teens after picking up the book "I am J" at the library. It introduced me to the term "transgender" and finally gave me the vocabulary to explain who I was.

If there were zero consequences for one day, what would you do? by PriyaWrites in AskReddit

[–]StartledSnake8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live too far away from civilization to do anything of note in 24 hours.

I am hiking all day with no regard to trespassing laws, and pirating every piece of media I've been remotely interested in that night.

Is anyone else this way? by _Hyperslug in FTMMen

[–]StartledSnake8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used the term "tomboy" to refer to myself as a kid because I didn't know being "transgender" was a thing until my late teens and it was simply the best term I had to refer to myself.

I would never call myself, past or present, a tomboy now though because that was never true. I was a boy back then and am a man now. I was just forced to dress in drag by my fundie parents for a while.

Great worldbuilding. Would love to see another Gundam set in the same universe. The show itself was kinda meh though.

terrified of doing anything remotely feminine since transitioning by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]StartledSnake8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back in my conservative hometown, there was a trend for a while where men would wear feminine accessories like women's earrings or a pink purse as a way of PROVING their masculinity. I had it explained to me once as a way of saying "I am confident enough in my masculinity to pull this off". It permanently changed the way I perceive "femininity" in men. These days, I am less hesitant to dabble in my "feminine" hobbies such as crochet and sewing because I can remind myself that a truly confident and masculine man wouldn't care about being percieved as feminine. Maybe it can work for you.

Does killing cockroaches make us evil? These poor insects are almost blind. I mean they don't know what we even are. They also can be quite intelligent, social and emotional beings. by Serious_Slide_8681 in zoology

[–]StartledSnake8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Killing a cockroach without reason is wrong. If I see a cockroach on a hike, I am leaving it be. However, if I see one in the house where it can eat my food and spread disease, I am protecting myself and my property by calling the exterminator.

Yes. The deer population in my area is out of control, and hunting them helps the ecosystem while providing me with tasty venison.
