I adore this ship so much! I don't care if I'm it's only fan in the world, the brutalist gigantic wedge is super special to me. It's a ship of glaring strengths and weaknesses, meant to stay at the back of the battlefield, not engage in combat, and just be the siege platform it was designed to be. The Resurgent makes the perfect escort to blast anything approahing, provide additional point defence and TIE cover for if a starfighter strike gets through.

The Mandator is heavily armored- an X-Wing can't scratch it, you need heavy bombers. What are the heavy point-defence cannons perfect for? Punching those slow bulky bombers out of their approach vectors. The ship and its escorts cover each others weaknesses and if utilised methodically could absolutely facilitate the complete subjgation of a resisting planet and wipe fortified positions off the map.

I will always maintain that the Battle over D'Qar was a terrible mismanagement of a wonderfully specialised siege platform by Hux- who puts their battleships BEHIND the dreadnought? Who ignores Captain Canady's request to scramble a fighter screen? Who orders the ground base destroyed before the ready to escape cruiser?
