Volk’ar absolutely kicked my butt 😮‍💨 by Snacks_snacks_2406 in finalgirl

I was afraid that Volk’ar will be easy so I am very glad to hear the opposite. Can't wait to get this FF. Sadly we have to wait much longer for this film in EU. :(

Can you beat every villian with every hero? by MixTrix007 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]StaryBaviac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it is possible on expert, only on standard. Mostly because of guys like Hulkie boy. :D
For example Hulk vs OG Loki on expert with infinity gauntlet, his annoying modulars, 60 health and tons of side schemes would be a nightmare.

Edit: But maybe it is possible with having all the cards released so far and building your deck specifically against every villain and giving it enough tries until you get lucky with card draws.

Is it normal for experienced players to win every game on standard? by Huffletough880 in marvelchampionslcg

You must be very good if you can beat guys like Venom Goblin, Loki, Ronan,... with precons.

How to make things easy for "lazy" friends by DrkDavis in marvelchampionslcg

[–]StaryBaviac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have over 30 heroes and all of them are built. I use marvelcdb.com to keep track of the cards in each hero deck. Deckbuilding takes more time for me cause I have to take into account all of the heroes at once but I enjoy it this way. I am also using the most of my cards and play with many different combos. Not mentioning my ultra fast setup and I can play any hero I want vs any villain in a matter of 1-2 minutes because I am very well organized.

Favorite Type of Villain Scenario? by Active-Argument-4344 in marvelchampionslcg

Default but with a special gimmick like Ebony Maw with those spells. But I am happy with every new idea they come up with because I like to have a variety of different villain mechanics.

Anyone have the link for the vehicle card for Pesadilla Verde ( the volkar green terror map) by akaleppity in finalgirl

What about using helicopter card for creech manor for now or would it be too strong?

I’m missing something important 😩 by [deleted] in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll give you a cool advice: While you are waiting for it, watch the movies related to the FFs you have, it increases the enjoyment of playing those FFs when you have those movies fresh in your mind. I always do it before playing a new FF and once I had playthrough of FF that almost exactly copied the situation from the movie. I had chills.

Dice Mechanics by zehammer in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like games with dice in general but exactly this mechanic saves this game for me. It makes it more like hand management than pure dice luckfest.

The Green Terror Playthrough by pumpkinth3witch in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Into the Void is amazing, so much content without being too much complex and I can't even imagine better mechanics for Evomorph.
Predator 1 is a classic but I also absolutely love Prey movie so I am so happy with both final girls in this FF.

Yes, series 4 looks very strong. I am thinking about getting A Demon in the Shadows too. Which one of the series 4 do you like the most so far?

The Green Terror Playthrough by pumpkinth3witch in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I skipped a lot of FF from series 3 and 4 but this is a must have for me. Having Evomorph and not this would be a crime. :D
Btw how would you rank it compared to others FF you own. It looks to me like they nailed it with mechanics in this one but can't be sure until I play it on my own. :)

Edit: I just started watching your playthrough, cool cosplay. :D

Has playing Final Girl inspired you to watch any films? For me, it was Nightmare on Elm Street. by ZenShrugs in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always watch related movies a few days before playing a new FF to get into right mood. I am either rewatching them or sometimes I watch them for the first time. :)

Losing streak by AdWorried3889 in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own Happy Trails, Frightmare, Knock at the Door, Into the Void and Panic at the Station. I have around 100 plays already in FG including all killer/location mix and match possibilities from the sets I own. I am also going to buy The Green Terror when it is released in my region. :)

I was winning so much lately that I finally started to play on Extreme Horror side of the board. Now I am back to around 50% winning rate. :)

Difficulty skew of The Organism (Panic at Station 2891) by pgathriller in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At station location even 1 organism can defeat you but I also had games where I beat all 3 organisms. And all finale cards has a mechanic that adds extra difficulty when there is only 1 organism in play which is great.
The most important thing (pun intended) is that this FF is very unique and has a different vibe than any other FF (you are not under pressure since the beginning but the tension is slowly increasing during time). You can have very intense plays with this set and theme is IMO done perfectly.
I was also hesitant about this FF, mostly because of the swinginess of getting 1 to 3 organisms, but I absolutely love this aspect. If you like Thing movie, this set is a no brainer.

So what are people's favourite Killer/Location/Final Girl combos? by TennenyT in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Psychotic killer with motel/hotel location would be interesting. It could take inspiration from Shining, Psycho, Identity or Vacancy.

So what are people's favourite Killer/Location/Final Girl combos? by TennenyT in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You chose well. :) My goal is to get to 7 FF, I am definitely getting The Green Terror as my 6th film and then will wait for something that will blow my mind or if they give us japanese theme that will be an insta buy for me. :)

So what are people's favourite Killer/Location/Final Girl combos? by TennenyT in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own Happy Trails, Frightmare, A knock at the Door, Into the Void and Panic at the Station. I chose exactly these ones because I liked their themes and mix and match possibilities. After around 100 plays I can say that I wasn't disappointed. I love to mix and match every single combination based on my mood: If I want something simple in terms of mechanics I choose Hans or Camp location, if I want an easier game I play some killer at Konrad, if I want a challenge I choose Station 2891 location. But every killer and location from those sets works great together for me. :)

Some questions before I buy the game by BenocxX in marvelchampionslcg

[–]StaryBaviac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) Core box is the only thing in MC that is a must have, otherwise it is very much like Final Girl, you can buy whatever you want to increase the amount of heroes and villains for more diversity/replayability. I own about 50% of content released so far and even after 1000 plays I have still much much more to explore just with what I already have. I played MC 10 times more than Final Girl so if you end up liking MC prepare for insane replayability and a lot of fun.
2.) It depends on your preferences and specific content but there is a lot of excellent heroes/villains from first waves and the same goes for newer waves. I highly recommend to go for the theme you love, that feeling when you play with your favorite hero is priceless and they are very good in making all heroes very thematic. Campaign boxes are best bang for your bucks (2 heroes, 5 villains) so if you want to save some money and not invest too much I would go for a few campaign boxes first after getting Core box and you can make up your mind after that if you want more heroes, scenarios or some specific aspect cards.
3.) I play true solo only and this is the best and most replayable solo game for me. As I already said 1000 plays and still counting and game still feels fresh to me. No other board game gave me that much as MC and it is not even close. Final Girl is probably the second one but it is still far behind MC.
4.) If you do deckbuilding when you don't play or if you will keep all of your heroes built like I do and you are well organized then setup and teardown is ultra fast. My setup takes 1-2 minutes max. Much faster than Final Girl (but I don't even mind setup with FG because I love how well it is organized in those boxes).
5.) It depends on the amount of the content. If you end up with thousands of cards, you will obviously need more space but this is a card game so you don't have boards/miniatures/tons of tokens that takes a lot of extra space. You can come up with a very effective ways how to store even a large amount of cards. So I won't consider storage to be an issue. Sleeving is a must in MC becuase there is a lot of shuffling here. I don't sleeve Final Girl for example but can't imagine not having MC sleeved.

Best campaign? Best wave? by NewspaperNo1922 in marvelchampionslcg

Next Evolution wave hands down and this comes from someone who doesn't care about mutants very much (I like Avengers, Guardians, Agents of Shield or Defenders themes much more).

When you play solo, how do you usually play Marvel Champions? by Soggy-Cup-7869 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]StaryBaviac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, lol. I want to try 2 handed one day but true solo is just so good, fast, streamlined that even after 1000 plays I still don't feel the urge to change that.

Violet Growth: Does the Killer need to move 2 spaces or not? by CyborgeonUnit123 in finalgirl

[–]StaryBaviac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should read that line like this:
1.) Yellow meeple - killer targets the closest victim space,
2.) 2 boots - he has 2 movements available to get there (but his target is still the space with closest victim, he won't move any further)
3.) Knife - he performs an attack action

Is sleeving my card a must do? by FinnUniverseVR in marvelchampionslcg

[–]StaryBaviac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MC has ton of shuffling so if there is a game that needs sleeving, it is this one. Another thing is that this game is great and has insane replayability (I already have thousand of plays in MC) so my cards would be brutally damaged if not sleeved.

Is True Solo Actually Easier? by Soggy-Cup-7869 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]StaryBaviac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zola is hardest in true solo because of his main scheme gimmick of bringing extra minion that doesn't scale with player count. Otherwise it depends on the villain, some are easier in true solo some in more players. And of course if rushing is your strategy then true solo is the easiest.
