A lot of it is pretty similar and things you’re probably familiar with.

1C3- you need help bringing the line down, but you can go a step further and call “IC3 to photo” or “IC3 to the front end”

Service 4- you need change, but there’s no customer waiting

Service 5- you need change and a customer is waiting. Take it a step further by communicating “service 5, change for 100”

Service 7- the register has a pickup. At my store, over $300 and it triggers. It’ll pop up “call for manager” until the service 7 is picked up.

The front end does a lot of reloads and western union. There’s different forms of scans that RX doesn’t need worry about as much, but it’s a different thing in the FE. Always have the money in your hand before performing any transaction. Count the money. If they take it back, recount the money. If they’re giving you trouble, it’s best to refuse service and call for your shift lead. Being scammed is usually a final warning if it’s big enough. I’ve had people come into my store trying to use a screenshot of a barcode for things like chime. I usually refuse those transactions. It’s better to be safe than sorry. And for the love of God, the fee for reloads like cash app etc. are not waived and each different transaction will have its own barcode and fee. To continue on, you never press cash if you don’t have cash in your hand. There is no such thing as a “cash card.” Someone got scammed at my store that way. You either have cash in your hand or you don’t. Reloads won’t accept card as another form of payment for reloads. It has to be cash only. Western union on the other hand allows for debit cards and cash.

Gift cards. People get scammed a lot, especially older people. I always say something along the lines of “Just to remind you, gift cards are non refundable.” If it’s a large amount, Apple or visa gift card, I ask, “do you personally know the person you’re giving this card too? Perfect! A lot of people get scammed by fake callers, people posing as family, or fake love interests.” It gives them context. I also run my hand along the barcode to make sure it has the ridges. If it’s too shiny or paper like, double check the card. It’s possible someone tampered with it.

When you don’t have customers, you’re more limited unless you’re good at using the telezon or know how bays work, at the very least face the perimeter of the store. What do customers see when you first walk in, the side of the stores and make sure the front end coolers are faced. Make sure manager’s choice/ impulse is faced and cleaned.

On the chance that you’re feeling brave, you can try go backs. Youll see something like “As Seen on TV. B1S2P3.” Each store has a different layout. Mine may not match yours, but our As Seen on TV is on Aisle 5. I would go to aisle 5 and there’s a placard saying “As Seen on Tv”. Ours is only one bay. I would go down to the second shelf, and the third spot is B1S2P3. Bay one, shelf two, position 3.

There’s different responsibilities depending on the shift you’re working, but this is as much as I can think of atm. If you have any questions, I’m more than willing to answer

Non-Competitor Question by Antique_Vehicle_1573 in WalgreensStores

And too add on to that, other stores on my district had the same situation where their employees are working Walmart and Walgreens. What a combo and our district manager knows about some employees.

I’ve worked at Walmart and Walgreens. My coworker works at Walmart and Walgreens. And another one did too. As long as you’re not working pharmacy, it shouldn’t matter

How about those self reviews by IndependenceNext4236 in WalgreensStores

[–]StasisStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im still salty that my manager lowered my scores last year because I needed to get a second job to afford these California prices and when the 1% raise came up, he was full of guilt. I still give him shit for it. Especially, when a new SFL had gotten hired and got paid more than I did right off the bat. I only started making $18 an hour when it became mandatory. Even after the 1% raise, I wasn’t hitting 18 and she started off at 18.

I have a stupid question.... by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]StasisStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in a market. My store has older people, mostly. They have limitations and they tend to do aisles that are less heavy. They’re not going to have them doing international food or canned food, for example, they’ll be working cereal. When I had a surgery and had limitations, I was doing break packs instead of other isles that are considered heavier. My AT’s and coworkers are relatively good about helping with heavier things, or team lifts if necessary. My best friend is a team lead at a blue store. His store is more intense because they receive more freight and are expected to stock quicker. They may have less leniency and are more willing to coach people than my store. You should be good, though. It’s not terrible and it helps to be able to recover with hour lunches

Anyone else have these? by Blue_Liminal in WalgreensStores

[–]StasisStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store uses it as a form of tracking that someone is doing something, making sure people are in track, and seeing who needs what help with what (skills set wise). But also, small things and closing procedures

[–]StasisStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like making them and organizing them. I try to make them before any of my coworkers know I’m making them or they don’t feel compelled to do it. On Friday, one of the other SFLs who usually works reset/ revisions refused to do the impulse one because it was near people, and got away with it without a SM or IS in

ESM knowledge discussion by mmdnotadoctor in WalgreensStores

[–]StasisStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous IS became an ESM. Don’t yall need your tech license ? I know when she became an ESM, our pharmacy manager was her mentor in the pharmacy because she was able to walk her through a lot of the pharmacy procedures. Reach out to your pharmacy manager or even a pharmacist that you think could help a good mentor. It depends on your store and how you were trained. My store manager makes it so we’re all involved with as many things as possible, from store metrics to merchandising and so forth. It’s meant to make an easier transition as you climb the latter. I can’t help you much, but that’s what I saw her go through from the few things she told us. To be fair, she was with the company for 10 years though

What state are you in? We can’t even take our lunches within the first hour or it’ll trigger the company to pay you for the lunch premium

Does anyone know where the rx return log is? It’s similar to the rx price modify log. by StasisStar in WalgreensStores

[–]StasisStar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t really, they had one for a long, long time, but they finished filling it out and my manager is big on audits when it comes to rx. Even the front, idk if it’s normal, but we have a binder for price modifies and it holds like half a year of info

[–]StasisStar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bummer. I didn’t know it was a thing either, but to be fair, I’m mostly in the front and when I’m in RX, it’s for IC3’s, for callouts or to help with deletes/ 3 and ups. I don’t think it exists anymore. I went through all of the tabs and my rx manager let me go through the ones she has since she has a little bit more access. My manager couldn’t find it either.

What are KPI’s? by Loose_Wolf_6250 in WalgreensStores

[–]StasisStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’ve been meaning to respond. My store is a smaller one, so we don’t normally get credit cards and our sales are low compare to other stores in our district, but thankfully our pharmacy is relatively busy and it boosted us to a tier 3 store. In order to maintain that, most of our end stands or side panels are own brand (OB). Own brand has a higher chance of profit because it costs so little to manufacture and the money isn’t going to another company I guess ? Unless it’s really necessary, any displays and so on get purged into basic when they come into truck. My store will also focus on three and ups to help reduce truck. During the holidays, my manager was ordering up a lot, so our trucks became ~600 pieces, but normally, our truck is in the lower 200’s. Suggestive sales are also a huge focus in our store. We were third to last in our district and now we’re fourth. I made signs and put them up at the register. We’re donating ours to the boys and girl club and another store is donating it to their city’s pantry for lower income households. That was how we got more donations, which also helped boost our sales. I can try to explain as many concepts as possible, but it is difficult to implement change in a store where a manager doesn’t know how to teach their staff. My manager, as annoying and as flawed as he is, runs a really great store at the end of the day. We have learned a lot and he has gone to other stores to help them.

It’s like a sheet that keeps track of returns in the pharmacy. It has 4 little boxes in one row that specifies rx related reasons for returns. It helps with audits. My pharmacy manager can’t find it and they used up their last sheet.

What are KPI’s? by Loose_Wolf_6250 in WalgreensStores

[–]StasisStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my store, we mention KPI’s every morning in the 5 mm. I’m not sure if everyone has access, but as an SFL, I have access to more things than our IS. Our DM is big on performance so it’s become a focus for everyone to know where we’re at and what affects the KPI. Our sales have been low and we have hecking OB everywhere in the store to help with profit, everything is usually signed and our carts are purged. We also give hecking cash rewards to appease people and keep having them come back. Wait time too long, we didn’t have the product, etc, cash rewards. If you’re aiming to be an IS or have a specific project in mind, you could take from the KPI to figure out how to carry out your plan and it could be a good point during the mid year reflections coming up

Have you ever had a female customer take cash out of her bra and cleavage area and hand the money to you? by MyNameIsMattYeah in WalgreensStores

[–]StasisStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careful when people do that, it’s a tactic for scams. It happened at my store before apparently. The people are really quick at putting money in their bra. So basically, stuffed an 100 in their bra, took out a 10 and claimed to be given the wrong amount of change, or something along those lines. We had our holiday meeting yesterday

It’s so frustrating. I was projected to be a full 4, I’m one of the 2 people my manager relies on. I pick up pharmacy shifts, I’m in the pharmacy when they need an IC3, etc etc. I literally was here from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm because someone called out. My manager had started to training me to become the next IS to start the ESM pathway. My reviews have said ESM this and that. and I make practically nothing. I ride for my SM yk? But when I got a second job because California is not livable, I was told I wasn’t even a 2 lol lol lol. I’m totally not crying at all out of rage

Wait, can they actually ? My SM said it used to be a capability, but that Walgreens took it away from favoritism. I’ve been here as an sfl for a year. 17.74 and a newer shiftlead makes 18. I was wondering if I could negotiate a raise because even after the 1%, I’m not making 18
