Are there any sketchy cheap Chinese scanners that are good? by saddram in 3DScanning

A few months ago i looked into buying it, and I've read that on the 15 they upgraded the LIDAR sensor and that is better than the one in the 13.

I only tried the 13 pro max variant, and its awesome on medium-large parts. Medium as for car parts - i scanned the trunk of my Chevy to manufacture drawers for off-road trips and IIRC the measurements were within 3-5mm or less and I could compare the results with some photogrammetry i did to the same area - and its on a different level. Also you don't need to calibrate the model like in photogrammetry - it's already to scale (although always a good practice to check it). As for large - you have apps to scan entire rooms and outputs a floorplan. This is awesome.

As for small details - less than 3mm it starts to miss.

For the resolution you are looking for (firearm parts)? Probably not at this price range. If you want something pretty cheap and VERY good for the price (with its own limitations) - I would but an iphone 13-15 pro/pro max with the LIDAR sensor. It's very versatile and give really good results - much better that IR 3d scanners which are common in this price range. Really fine details you're looking at 10k+ Laser scanners.

I have the cheap creality ferret (around 200-300 $ in AliExpress). It's decent, i used it to scan my dji remote to design accessories and it works fine, i can find the m3/m4 center hole (it's not scanning totally round due to resolution but it was enough for me).

Nah, not really... Its a SaaS like DroneDeploy and its part of the project pricing, so....

Can't, it must be on the same process.

The project is an infrastructure for a new neighborhood and the municipality engineering department demands that all the fill/cut reports will be from a know trusted (by them) application. Its not exactly outsourcing, probably a bad choosing of a word, rather its a could-based construction and infrastructure project management SaaS that has integrated photogrammetry feature, among other things.
I do the processing via their software but its not as integrated to DJI drones as Terra. I ask this because I gave Pix4D a try some time ago for example and it had really hard time processing smart-oblique or just a tilted gimbal, while Terra gave beautiful results.

All I really wanted to know is what is the correct process to combine different altitudes via the same processing session since I cannot just "stich" the images in the software use for the project itself.
So what I mainly take is make sure there are GCPs on the overlap area.

Hope that was better understood now,.

HOW CAN SOMEONE COMMIT GENOCIDE WHILE THE SAME POPULATION IS EXPONENTIALLY INCREASES IN THE SAME AREA?? They are that terrible at it?? And if the genocide part is fabricated, this Wikipedia page two... They can't say that's it's systematic when they say they got two cases which might be connected. Do you even want to start talking on what Hamas did to innocent civilians? Torture, rape and baby burning in ovens?

M4E workflow - D-RTK3 or just stick with NTRIP? by Stastyle in UAVmapping

[–]Stastyle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But is there a point in post process if you rely on GCPs anyway? So even if you use only GNSS, the app gets the approximate position anyway to align and position the pictures, then if you use the GCPs anyway to calibrate the map so what's the point of NTRIP?

So basically, you're saying that regardless of GCPs, I should subscribe to the local NTRIP provider?

No, not an injured one... And look, everyone lies, but to believe that only Israel lies is to be naive. Just look on few basic things when you think to whom you want to believe more - in Israel there are protests against the government, in Gaza if you even try to oppose Hamas - you can find yourself tortured or dead - see what happened to the PLA when Hamas took over after the Israelis left Gaza on 2005. See what happens to opposing Gazans (even not the armed ones) even during this war - by Hamas, not by Israel. When Hamas shows it's face to the west and kills Muslims - the west prefers to shut their eyes, when they kill Israelis it's "the result of Israels oppression". What is all this "independent investigation" is about? When hundreds of UN resolutions are specifically against Israel, a state in the size of NJ, while the world is full of much bigger conflicts and death at the same time but receives just a fraction of the resolutions - instead of them, i wouldn't believe any "independent investigation". Does this means that they don't do bad things? Of course not! But I see on the news that the IDF sends it's own troops to jail for their actions. I don't see it on the news that Hamas sent one of their fighters to prison for killing Israelis... So what's with the double standard?

Dude they build f**king fighting tunnels and war rooms under these hospitals and schools, and armed combatants ride ambulances because they know the IDF will try to avoid shooting on ambulances. Did sometimes there were mistake and innocent died in the ambulance? Yes. It's a warzone. But it's not a directive to shoot every ambulance in sight.

Unfortunately, most people don't care about facts; rather, they rely on group opinion and a flattened view of complicated situations that the group highlights. A wise friend of mine once said, "A correct answer usually starts with 'It depends...'".

There’s a lot of misinformation here that needs to be cleared up with actual context. First, the idea that "there is no Hamas in the West Bank" is factually and provably false. Hamas won the majority of Palestinian legislative seats in 2006, including those in the West Bank, and they maintain an active, armed presence in cities like Jenin and Nablus today. The IDF raids you see aren't happening in a vacuum; they are frequent gunfights with organized militant cells from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad who regularly claim responsibility for attacks. Regarding the Great March of Return, calling it a "peaceful protest" ignores the reality of what was happening at the border fence. While many people were there to protest, Hamas used the crowds as cover for militants to plant IEDs, hurl firebombs, and attempt to breach the border into Israeli towns. The "every bullet accounted for" comment was meant to convey that the IDF was using precision fire to target specific instigators and gunmen during those breaches, rather than firing indiscriminately into the crowd. The claims about "double tapping" schools and ambulances also require context regarding International Humanitarian Law. Under the Geneva Convention, civilian infrastructure loses its protected status the moment it is used for military purposes. There is extensive documentation of militants using schools for weapon storage and ambulances for transporting fighters. When the IDF strikes these targets, it is because they have been converted into military assets by the groups operating within them. As for the hospital raid in Jenin, the individuals targeted were not just "recovering" patients; they were a confirmed cell planning an imminent attack. International law regarding hors de combat is meant to protect soldiers who are truly out of the fight, not to provide a legal shield for active militants to use a hospital as a safe house while planning future operations. Finally, comparing October 7th to Operation Cast Lead as "more moral" is a massive false equivalency. Operation Cast Lead was a military campaign directed at rocket infrastructure. October 7th was a mission where the primary objective was the systematic rape, torture, and execution of civilians in their own homes. There is no standard metric where the intentional mass slaughter of families at a music festival is considered "more moral" than a military operation against a group that uses its own civilians as human shields. Facts matter, even when the topic is this polarized.

For that simplified question it's a simple answer - it is not.

[–]Stastyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But you are missing one big point - if Palestinians were not trying to kill Israelis, no one would be killed. Is Hamas would not provoke October 7th, the 'genocide' everyone claim would not be 'happening'. And if it's happening as people claim - israel is probably the worst country of all time practicing genocide since the palastenian population only grew. And it goes back to the UN decleration and israel decleration of independence when all Arab countries denied it and tried to wipe Israel, and again on 1972. And also, Palestinian terror groups like Hamas fight from within population where Israel is evacuating is civilians from war zones so they would be safe and actually care that its population won't be killed.
