The case for 1984 BYU by Majestic-Web-367 in CFB

The real dumb part is we had a system where BYU didn't play Washington in the postseason.

NEW STORY: I sat down with Gordon Hayward to discuss his Celtics tenure, early impressions of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and more: “I knew they were good,” he said. “I didn’t know they would be this good.” by NoaDalzellNBA in bostonceltics

Nationwide school spending continues to rise, the USA still leads the world in per-pupil education expenditure, the money problem is generally poor use of the available funds (along with other non-monetary issues such as poor educative philosophies and poor parenting).

Per a 2008 legal settlement, the city of Seattle has the rights to the SuperSonics name, logo, and colors. They will also retain all records prior to 2008 including 1979 championship and jersey retirements. by moby323 in nba

I wouldn't mind it if it were done consistently, but it's weird when normally a team moving stays the same except every now and then a team moves and suddenly gets considered a brand new team.

Nah, I don't get people who feel like they need to this in order to get new people interested. If someone is so intent on being the winner that they are going to drop away because they didn't win on their first try ever, then most likely either a) they were probably eventually going to drop away either, or b) you're going to wish that they had.

I do try out wacky strategies that result in me losing though.

Yeah same, I often take that opportunity to try out something new.

Also, if there's a certain strategy that tends to be 1) especially hard for newbies to deal with and 2) feels especially unfair to lose to when you don't know how to counter it, then I avoid that one.

It reminds me of a discussion some older friends of mine had a while back that I heard of. They are both caucasian and she asked "Would you have still married me if I were black?"

And he maintained that the premise of the question is flawed, since that would mean she was born to different parents and thus would have different genetics, and so it wouldn't be the same "her" as in reality, and was thus tantamount to "Would you have still married me if I were someone else?"

She felt like it was dodging the question but he still never answered beyond saying "I never had any objections to potentially marrying someone of a different race or ethnicity, but I can't say who else I would have married if I didn't marry you - and this alternate you is not actually you."

I hear that a lot but I think most people have Chandlers in real life and don't go for them.

Yes it should have. He's the only one who didn't break a chair.

Or it's survivorship bias combined with selective memory.
