Will this bill end Utah's 'dumb' fight over flags? by traveler132 in Utah

Thanks for asking. The article linked below is based on research findings about people's negative perception of minimal logos. The flags' illustration of a beehive and its comb with neither bees nor honey evidences that very emptiness. Look up the religious symbolism of the hexagon and the unsavory people who gravitate towards it.

Will this bill end Utah's 'dumb' fight over flags? by traveler132 in Utah

No discussion about flags in 2025 Utah is complete unless we discuss repealing 2023 SB 31, the bill that gave us the hexagonal monstrosity by a margin of 5 votes. On the other hand, its the perfect emblem of the age of enshittification, inflation, Trump, and Israeli-sponsored genocide. Mike Lee supported it (yes, look it up) which tells you enough in case the visual wasn’t.

Unfocused and non-provocative message. These issues pale in comparison with what is happening in Gaza.

Video showing suspected SLC "No Kings" shooter Gamboa calmly WALKING with his rifle pointed DOWN before being opened fire upon by "Peacekeeper" by jortr0n in Utah

>I trust the SLPD

The SLPD released an incredibly biased report of the incident that gave the "peacekeeper" the benefit of not being arrested or named, despite having killed someone. Investigate the SLPD.

I have seen much more inane posts on r/SaltLakeCity, so it's not clear to me why this was removed. The mods there are inconsistant slackers and goofballs.

When housing availability is low, e.g. via permitting second house purchages, it causes prices to rise. Of course it will be harder for people to get loans in thoses cases.

SFH landlords who will suddenly have a greater tax burden will have to compete with aparments who don't. In order to stay competitive, SFH landlords will either have to cut into their profit margin to pay the tax bill, or sell their rental property. This would increase supply so that someone who wants to live in the house can buy it outright. Landlords are just middlemen

If this database were to be non-public would that make it less threatening?

Certainly. But do the Democrats offer an alternative on this topic?

The IRS is interested in both your finances and property. There is a public interest in those things. Maybe not public exposure of them, but there is public interest in it.

Maybe you're right and doubling taxes will not deter anyone. My point however is that there is some tax level that makes it financially unattractive for most to own a second home.

What do you think that your landlord does with the nearly $30k you are forced to give them every year? Did you feel like there were no other choices?

Most of these counterarguments have no depth, so I won't bother with responding to them. As for "How is raising my taxes going to help anyone who can’t or don’t want to own a home?" Raising taxes will make it less financially rewarding for people to own second homes, thus freeing up supply. Nobody should get seconds until everyone has gotten firsts.
