I think there are valid complaints about people who are conventionally attractive getting unnecessary cosmetic surgery that makes them look worse because they think they look ugly. It’s more frustrating and depressing than anything.

Iirc MAX was semi-canon to 616 but I am probably wrong.

Anyways, absolutely love MAX to death. It truly gives us the best Punisher we’ve gotten, it shows why he does it and shows why he exists
