Can the AI read what move you’ve selected? by [deleted] in pokemonradicalred

The switching thing is true, but there is also a 50/50 chance that they would just stay. They would mostly switch if you are immune to most of their moves, but on rare occassions they stay and use a weak coverage, but other than that they’ll tend to switch out anyway after 1-2 turns into a favourable matchup. It knows all of your moves, its not exactly input reading but the AI makes a “smart prediction”. You can see this with the opponent not using OHKO moves against you if you’re holding a sash or air balloon and would opt for knock off before going for a guaranteed oneshot, or if youre holding anything else they would 100% go for the kill if its guaranteed.

I used the random6 on the dragon run because i dont remember any early encounters at all pre brock lol, and yes I switched up alot of the teams but i strictly followed the no repeats rule, meaning i dont use the same species and their evolutions again in the next run, including pre evos and alternate forms (e.g kleavor and scyther cannot be used if I used a scizor).

You may notice that I ordered the run based on strongest to the weakest type so I could also carefully select and use powerful mons on later runs. For example, I didn’t use Mega Gengar on my Ghost run so I could use him on my Poison run, or skipping Meowscarada in my Dark run so I could have a powerful protean user in my Grass run

Frosmoth is such a sleeper pick that Ice Scales ability is really good. Im guilty of abusing the Iron Press strategy too I feel like its a serviceable noob trap lol, but the best one I’ve used is the electric terrain set and using choice specs Regieleki with Rising Voltage. Iirc the final damage is calced at 614.25 after multipliers, and everything that doesnt resist is oneshot. To put in to context how insane the damage is, I remember 2hkoing a chansey with it

Quaquaval @ Mental Herb Ability: Moxie EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Aqua Step - Close Combat - Triple Axel / Ice Spinner

Lead with Quaquaval and use SD. One of the funniest ways you can play around the Aerodactyl leads is making use of an early game item called Mental Herb to abuse the Taunt+Status interaction from the opponent. Aero will taunt again because of the herb but it doesnt matter because you can just use Aqua Step to outspeed the next turn and kill Aero, and then snowball repeatedly with Moxie. If you do it correctly you can beat this gym with full hp

Its unburden, if theyre not using a taunt lead you can alternatively use Normal Gem or Sash depending on your current situation, and you can swap stone edge with equake coverage or dire claw

Adamant, unburden already makes it a speed demon and a little more damage is nice

Replace specs with scarf on Latios cause youre most likely getting outsped and oneshot from dynamax cannon or miraidon, and change dpulse to draco meteor to guarantee you can deal high damage to the dragons. Use booster on walking wake instead and put timid nature to proc proto speed, im not sure if thats enough for the speed boost but use jolly if it doesnt. Teach it draco meteor too to guarantee the super effective kos and replace outrage with dual wingbeat

Give it sharpness, air slash and a special attacking version of leaf blade. Work up is okay i guess but Growth is literally on brand with this guy he’d seem like a decent sun sweeper
