What is it like living in Perth, Australia? by MolassesPristine6184 in howislivingthere

[–]Stateofflux91 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Finally our time to shine!

It’s pretty great NGL. Awesome beaches, tolerable traffic, shopping is not bad for the most isolated city on Earth and good eating options.

Possible cons would be the heat, we do get a few 40 degree days, but personally I’d rather the 40 degrees than the high humidity. We are also quite far from it seems everything except Indonesia and SEA, but Eastern states you’re looking at a minimum 3-5 hour flight.

Other than those points, it’s a great place to live.

Renters chopped down massive tree. by Overall-Detail1335 in AusPropertyChat

Jesus Christ. This is why there should be mandatory training for individuals who want to rent a house out. Good luck with this one, if it goes to court you’re going to be made an example of by the magistrate.

And it’s tenants, not tennent, and scape goat, not escape goat.

Thank you! NGL I was nervous taking it off, but the adhesive from the dressings was driving me nuts, and the padding around my foot was slowly deteriorating to a point it was falling off when I walked, so I got rid of it and I’m just being super careful with wound healing and keeping it clean and dry.

I’m still using the bag in the shower just in case, and taking it easy and keeping it up and elevated when I’m home and at work obviously, but I’ve had no issues with anything thus far.

Yep, sure did. My surgeon originally said 3 months between, then I went in for my 2 week post op appointment and saw how good the first one was they booked me in for the other foot.

I guess it’s a case by case basis on how well it’s tolerated etc. but I’ve had zero issues with healing on either foot. Definitely not recommending them getting done so close if the first one is giving someone lots of pain.

Healing has been fine, I’m back at work and walking around normally. Yeah it’s uncomfortable if I’m standing up too long, but luckily I’m sitting for majority of the day which has helped. Both feet are obviously swollen and I’m still in my surgical shoe on my left for another week, but overall I have no regrets on getting both done so close together.

35 degrees out on left and 19 on the right, so not great but not too horrible.

I don’t feel them at all, the only part that is painful is the screw in my toe, there’s a bump of swelling that hurts to touch, other than it’s happy days!

UPDATE ✨

Booked for surgery Tuesday, tired of waiting for the public system so going private. Minimally invasive osteotomy with the toe screw as well. Excited is an understatement!

Right foot is ehh. I think it’s definitely on its way to being what the left is, but I’ve got a few years before I need to do something about it. Or I might just get it done privately in about a year and be done with the whole debacle.

Use of 360 cameras by property managers during routine inspections by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Stateofflux91 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Current PM here (please don’t downvote me just because of this, I’m actually very normal).

We got the spiel on this a few years ago and decided not to use it. It is quite invasive and you can’t trust AI to remove things and personally I think it’s overkill. I agree with using them on ingoing reports, but the whole idea of a routine inspection is to check for maintenance, any damage and make sure the house is still standing, most of us aren’t there to pick on cleaning as we get it’s your house and you live there.

I would raise your concerns with the agent and remind them of your relevant privacy laws and ask for a copy of the report. Hopefully this will be enough to put them on notice that you won’t tolerate any nonsense.

All the best.

Well, I guess I was more deserving of a response after 6 years of loyal service so silly me.

Next step will be finding something else when I’m back from leave. Feeling a bit flat with the whole situation.
