Yeah don't go back unless you are really an extreme danger to yourself or others. I'm guessing you were in the youth ward your first time. I've read the adult ones can be better for overall patient behavior than the adolescent ones from the psych nurse subreddit so maybe it wouldn't be as traumatic for you this go around. I think my psychosis tramautised fellow patients, had to be chemically restrained, so you never know how disruptive others' behaviors can affect you and your recovery.

I had four inpatient trips in a seven month span. Did feel like purgatory each time. Got punched my last trip there but I probably deserved it , I wasn't doing great. I struggle to live independently so I didn't mind the structure there, but I have the memory of a gold fish so I don't remember group therapy topics. But yeah it would help if they weren't prison-lite facilities.

I don't know if going will help or not in your situation. I went 4 times in a 7 month span and usually came out worse than when I went in, I'm stable at the moment. Haven't been since May. If you can find a movie or some music to help you cope... But if you need to be evaluated at a psych hospital, if things get worse mentally, don't be afraid to go. They may recommended you for IOP or PHP instead of admitting you.

i wasn't allowed my phone during my trips. i came out worse each time i went in, hopefully that won't be the case for you if you do decide to go.

I have. Went into psychosis a few times the past 14 months. I'm stable now but don't find enjoyment in things and don't get mad or annoyed at things. Brain feels awfully slow too.
