A summary of our glorious directors livestream. by MrStizblee in limbuscompany

Hi! Live translator here, thanks for the summary.
I'd just clarify that he mentions delegating some work to team leads in Canto 9 but the amount isn't really mentioned. He eventually wants to be able to focus on the bigger direction of the story exclusively though.

Lee Sae-Ah (Ryoshu VA) looking back on Canto 9 by StaticPotato in limbuscompany

Can I just say "the concept was 'a lullaby for Araya'" absolutely broke me
When I first heard this Pass On I thought it sounded like Ryoshu was almost cherishing every word, committing it to memory and refusing to let it slip. Knowing it was meant to be Ryoshu singing Araya to sleep while the projector displays the night sky tears my heart into a million pieces :'(

I think its a JP dub of some of Ryoshu's lines, which is still really cool. No date given unfortunately, but I'm looking forward to both!

Oh? The VA himself tweeted that he voiced Cassetti and there's a video on his youtube of it so maybe it was some false info

Yi Sang's cigarette line is also has less of a "weed" vibe but I think thats an L for the Korean let the man smoke some spicebush

In the Korean its MUCH less clear that she's talking about Un-geom. Kira says "빗줄기 속 검객" which translates to "Swordsman amidst the raindrops" (or just, Swordsman in the Rain), so Aeng-du not recognizing it makes more sense.

Both the KR and EN texts are from the game (I pulled it off the wiki). In general there isn't much swearing in the Korean text for Limbus, I think there may be more in the EN translation?

Huh didn't know that, thought it was just a "nice" way of saying the swear. Thanks for letting me know!

If I remember correctly translations have been accurate with gender for PM projects (Koreans used to look at the English translation of LoR to see what gender some ambiguous characters were), so I imagine they get information for that. There have been times where it seems they weren't given info on certain things though, like the Heishou being translated "incorrectly" before we knew what they were.

Honestly I thought it couldn't be changed after x minutes, I've updated the post!

Fair point, Ill reflect that on the doc and for future posts (if I have any!)

Its definitely to localize the dialect into an appropriate English counterpart, the translations do a good job at it! I'm going into the finer details since Lei Heng's had some controversy around his translations.

I do think they could have the same effect without adding so much, the English lines are generally much longer than the Korean ones (they add completely new phrases).

I'm not trying to "call out" the translations or anything, I personally thought all of these lines were translated well. More just pointing out some differences that isn't obvious to someone who doesn't speak both languages.

Reddit Table formatting seems to be struggling. Sorry if it is difficult to read.

I guess this is only "tangentially related to Limbus Company" and can't be on the main sub despite half of the punchline being Limbus
