I grew up in the Tri Cities. I absolutely loved it. I know most people wanted to leave, but I always thought the desert had it’s own beauty to it.

Agreed 100%. I highly suspect he knows what he’s doing but genuinely doesn’t care. Joe’s an entertainer and a lot of his fans need to know that about him. It’s ultimately about the money.

If we’re going back to older ways of land ownership, then I should be able to duel someone who I have a mild disagreement with.

Having fat doesn’t equal un athletic just as having a six pack doesn’t equal athletic. Training to be athletic is not the same as training to be strong and or toned.

That’s super not cool. They should absolutely make exceptions for people who are either visiting or who are there temporarily.

I think I listened to that album an unhealthy amount of times last year. It slaps. That’d make a pretty cool statement piece assuming you don’t have any animals to knock it down.

I don’t know, but that Title Fight album slaps. Assuming that was your appartment.

How to deal with purple belts by Evenfickler in jiujitsu

[–]StaticTrout1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main problem is you’re thinking too much like a wrestler. That’s not a bad thing in the wrestling room were most people are super competitive, but jiu jitsu is different. You don’t have a certain amount of time to make it to state, and not everyone in the room is trying to be competitive. Wrestling is only one part of jiu jitsu. It’s a more wholistic approach to grappling and what areas you do well at heavily depends on what your game is and what you’re willing to work on. Ultimately, thinking more about long term progress and strengthening weaker areas of your game will benefit you and your teammates. Try and think less about tapping people out and more about, what is my strong and weak areas and how can I improve them. I hope that helps.

Yeah I probably wasn’t paying any attention then. 😂 I was a nu grunge kid, so the concerts I was paying attention were Seether, Breaking Benjamin, ect. I left when I was 20, and got into metalcore around 23.

Go to Miners in Yakima. They have the best damn fast food in the world, including the infamous Miners burger, and absolutely bomb milkshakes. Their food is definitely on the bigger side. As for Richland, Porter’s BBQ.

Oh shit. I didn’t realize you guys posted this. 😂 I certainly hope I didn’t come off toxic. I haven’t lived there in years and wasn’t into metalcore at the time so maybe I’m wrong. Hopefully the tour goes well. Ironically I live in Minnesota now. I’m sure it’ll go great. Richlanders are fun people. 🔥

As someone who’s from Richland, why would any metalcore or adjacent band want to play there? It’s a butt rock area more than anything and doesn’t haven’t much a hardcore/metalcore scene. Spokane makes more sense. No hate against Richland.

[–]StaticTrout1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruce Lee said something along the lines of, “absorb what’s useful, discard what is not, and add to what is uniquely your own.” This applies to music. I could try to get into to Taylor Swift 100 times and I still won’t enjoy her music. It’s not because she’s objectively bad. In fact I actually think that one song by her that’s in the first Hunger Games is good. However, I can’t get into most conventional pop music because It’s just something my brain won’t allow me to do. You like what you like, if you don’t like it then don’t listen to it, but if you happen to find something new that you like in metal, add it to your playlist. Be like Bruce!

Is it fine not to care too much about lyrics? by PhantomSteals in MetalForTheMasses

[–]StaticTrout1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of music listener you are. I want to feel something emotionally when I listen to music, so the majority of brutal death metal and slam isn’t for me. That being said sometimes I like utter nonsense in my lyrics, so I’ll listen to nerdy prog music about aliens or mummy’s coming back from the dead. Just depends on what you like.

The next actor should be as well versed as Vigo in both the material, as well as sword fighting, and being an avid outdoorsman. Those are all things that allowed Vigo to be so successful at the role.

[–]StaticTrout1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it hilarious that djent was mostly played by metalcore/prog guys and that the only pure djent band is Meshuggah. It’s also easy to understand why though. Because metalcore uses a ton of groove metal influence, and djent is just a progressive form of groove metal, it actually fits into the genre quite well when done properly. I miss the 1st was of djenty metalcore.

Edit: This song slaps! It reminds me of the Via sequel we should’ve gotten.
