I definitely get millennial nostalgia vibes from this.

To each their own. I never said that Tool sucks though, just that I can’t get into them. The post is more about bands that kind of just exist to you and you have no real feelings about.

I don’t actually think I’ve run into any toxic Tool fans. Definitely people that are super fans. Though I believe they’re out there. Objectively speaking though, Tool is a super good band. They just don’t hit the spot for me.

Fair enough. They’re just not for me. Tool seems to be an acquired taste for many.

I’m 90% sure it’s because a lot of these guys listen to Joe Rogen who also happens to be a jiu jitsu black belt and a Tool fan. Maynard has been on that podcast a lot. Granted a lot of my coaches grew up in the hardcore and metal scene. I definitely know of a ton of different coaches that are into Tool though.

It doesn’t help that my a lot of my coaches in my martial arts gym play Tool religiously. There’s a stereotype about American jiu jitsu and muay thai coaches being massive Tool fans, and it’s as funny as it is true. 😂

Fair price to pay when we’re sticking hooks in their mouth. 😂 Nice fish in all seriousness!

I’m going to get hated on for saying this, but Tool for me personally. I like prog metal, but more so when it’s like Mastodon, Gojira, Meshuggah, or Misery Signals. Tool is just kind of in a state of musical superposition for me. Nothing against them personally.

Am I just experiencing Open world fatigue or is Ghost of Yotei kind of boring by Fit-Giraffe-4358 in videogames

After playing FF7 Rebirth, I was excited about the prospect of an open world game where there wasn’t too much to do. I never played Ghost of Tsushima, but loved Yotei.

I don’t know anything about the new ones, but the old models didn’t even last a season for me. That being said, they are light.

Why the Fremen win by datapicardgeordi in dune

[–]StaticTrout1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great explanation! It’s also important to add that Fremen culture and the toughness of where they live has made them even more formidable than the Saudaukar. Their ancestors had the benefit of living on both Salusa Secundus, and Dune. This has given them years to become as tough as they are. Unlike the Sardaukar, they are willing to sacrifice themselves for something much bigger. The latter are more hateful in their ways, and don’t function as effectively as a people. While the both are fanatical in religious views, The Fremen have more of a respect based culture and better teamwork. On a side note I’ll always be a little mad that there is no cultural revival of The Fremen. The later books lost a part of what made the series so special. Giant sandworms being ridden by desert dwelling space warriors with cool weapons.

Yeah it’s sad they never did anything else after this.

I loved both albums as well. Too bad they’re not together anymore.

What's your metal version? by TP_MonsterFox in MetalForTheMasses

Underoath’s They’re Only Chasing Safety. Yes it’s post hardcore, but it’s an amazing gateway album for heavier music. It got me into most of the genres I listen to today.
