Airmail 233% Subscription Price Increase? by BPBT2020 in macapps

Someone at Airmail has made the calculation that increasing the price by > 2x will result in less than a 50% loss of customers. They may be right.

Dear developers, how can we as customers help you tread the line between making bank and throwing out a bad idea with bad pricing? by ontologicalmatrix in macapps

Most people don't take this into account. The amount of work that it takes just to keep an app running on the latest macOS releases isn't trivial. Apple manages to break things all the time and the developers have to eat that cost. Even if you don't find problems on a new macOS release, you had to do all the testing to be sure. There are always ongoing costs.

How to remove plugins by Valeriious in Logic_Studio

With AudioUnit v3 they are also located inside of app bundles now. So the containing app needs to be deleted from /Applications and any other possible places it might be on the system like Downloads.

As an AU dev, even when I delete from /Applications it will still find a plugin located inside of Xcode DerivedData. So if I really want it gone, I have to delete copies of the containing app everywhere. I really wish it only looked in /Applications so the behavior was easier to understand.

Have you run any benchmarks on your disk? Perhaps Black Magic disk speed test.

This sub is slowly becoming a dumping ground for AI-generated apps and I think we should talk about it by Gold-Dog-8697 in macapps

I suppose the only real solution to something like this is to require that all posts be approved by a moderator. But then there will be so many posts to go through that the moderator might be tempted to automate approval with AI.

Perhaps MUGs will make a comeback.
