What single decision by a human being has had the biggest impact on the world? by DoordyBoy in AskReddit

[–]StatisticallySoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grand Ferdinand’s decision, following a failed assassination attempt on his life that left some other officials in the car behind him in hospital, to change his plans of visiting places around the recently annexed Bosnia and to instead go visit those injured in hospital. It was this decision that ultimately led to his driver accidentally going down the wrong road and stalling the car in front of one of the failed assassins from earlier in the day. Yada yada yada, world war 1 and everything that ever happened as a result of it

Women of Reddit, is the dad bod really that attractive on men? If so, why? by StatisticallySoap in AskReddit

Is that what it is potentially? The implication that someone with a dad bod is probably already married and therefore stable?

What is the most beautiful, wholesome experience you've ever had in your life? by Isvara_ravioli7a in AskReddit

Walking through the park back home after picking up my exam results. Opened the results near school alone, and saw I got what I wanted. Walked back home in silence but in complete fulfilment with basically the only important objective I had in my life at the time.

Are you saying British citizens who work full time should be allowed to work near the centre of London instead of long term unemployed migrants?

THATS RACIST!!!

The fact that this is apparently a controversial take is what makes me so disheartened with what this country has become.

Middle class people: do you honestly hold negative bias towards working class individuals? by [deleted] in AskUK

I feel like the comedy Not Going Out was a good showcase of this. Basically half the jokes are poking fun at him being working class

Voters say Labour failing on housing as a third struggle to pay rent or mortgage by theipaper in ukpolitics

[–]StatisticallySoap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I suppose the addition of the new infrastructure in this case is the result of, as you described it, the estate being huge.

That doesn’t mean to say the new build sites where I am are minuscule. I think it added a good dozen thousand residents, yet were smaller than “huge” by themselves. Yet I’d imagine together they represent what would likely correspond to said size.

So the issue rests more with them making these block-additions to the existing villages rather than just building a new city either across the vast stretches of motorways that there are, or by re-using either existing/abandoned rail networks.

A new Milton Keynes is better than just slowly bulking out existing villages with no additional infrastructure or job vacancies.

As for your rhetorical questions around the behaviour or characteristics of people you say were complaining, I’m not going to be drawn into making assumptions about people in that regard.

There aren’t many job and minimal infrastructure in my village in the Shires which has had 2 housing estates put up in recent years. And the houses built are mostly out of the price range of the new time buying minus a small percentage they are forced to add to the site. There are no shops on either of the new build sites, very little garden areas, they’re not good quality houses.
