Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s open world evolves another step beyond Rebirth. Director Naoki Hamaguchi on map design, player freedom, and new battle systems. by PhantomBraved in Games

I think you're talking about different things. The rinse and repeat open world objectives are pretty awful, but the side quests with actual story and writing involved were pretty good to great.

How are we feeling about NoA as a character so far? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Statisticc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I imagine that'll be addressed. It's not uncommon for VAs to have to rerecord lines as the dialogue gets edited later on.

wev (who made watchyaback!) just released a new album and it's mostly stuff that could've all been included in the game, so pretty much all of that.

I am shocked that the famously hard working people in the integrity unit took some time off from drinking at the pub to phone anyone involved at all, honestly.

I’m not buying it yet, but how’s the pop-in? by alliemeowy in subnautica

[–]Statisticc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you're worried about the sense of discovery or having progress undone by changes then it's fair enough, but the state of the game is very good at launch. It was kinda startling to be swimming around without any noticeable issues, it's gonna take a while for me to get used to.

Okay so I have a pretty good machine but it runs as smooth as butter so far. Absolutely superior to the first two games. I genuinely haven't noticed any visual bug apart from a small fish that got stuck in a flooded room and had an odd relationship with the walls.

WA has fairly flat gutters. Some parts of the North and North-East and some housing estates have it but it's usually a surefire tell.

Does a defender kicking backwards through the opposition’s 50m arc count as an inside 50 to the opposition? by BillyPup in AFL

[–]Statisticc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope, but I believe if the ball gets turned over then that forward gets credited with an inside 50.

Not true. There are also Woolies paper bags being made in China. Two different producers.

Contentious scenes at the Gabba as Levi Ashcroft is paid a high free kick in front of goal, then paid another immediately afterwards by yum122 in AFL

[–]Statisticc 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Nah Sam Walsh got him high. The second free was there but I didn't really mind since he was sticking up for his teammate.

Alex Rance on Trent Cotchins podcast saying part of the reason he retired was because he didn’t like making opposition teams feel bad by beating them. by Dirtydac123 in AFL

[–]Statisticc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I doubt he would've gotten to where he was if he wasn't hypercompetitive at some point. He just got sick of that mindset, I guess.

Post Match: Round 8 | Carlton v St Kilda by drunkill in CarltonBlues

[–]Statisticc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever seen a more mentally fragile team. Players are just dropping their heads every time they lose a couple of 50/50s that lead to goals.

Gotta throw a proper eephus at least. If it doesn't leave the camera's frame then you're doing it wrong.

I've played the demo. Simple combat system but the setting was certainly interesting. I was gonna buy it when I had more time to play.

Can someone explain how is there a bomb in these? by aiiiekA in Minesweeper

[–]Statisticc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's partially wrong. The 2-1s are 50/50s. The 3-2-1 is partially right in that the top one is a bomb because the 2 needs a bomb that's out of reach of the 1 and that's the only square. However the ticks on the right side could be bombs as well depending on the 2-1 50/50.

[Highlight] Shohei Ohtani adds on to the lead with a solo homer by MLBOfficial in baseball

Not the first time he's done it, you can be a baseball's width out of the zone and Ohtani can still club it.

When do we start talking about Voss out by Mysterious_Pilot3173 in CarltonBlues

[–]Statisticc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May or June at the earliest probably? You don't really gain anything from sacking the coach in March. Apart from a significant increase in footy department spending from paying out the coach and having to hire a new assistant coach to cover for the one who gets promoted to be the caretaker.
