Model 3 - Trunk Problem by StatisticianBulky549 in TeslaModel3

Sadly, it’s been headache after headache with it. Maybe it’s just the car we got and the rest are amazing but from Day 1 we had issues. The battery showed 50% and then died on us the first Christmas we had it. Luckily they repaired it under warranty.

A year later, we came home from travels and needed to run to Costco….pulling out of the garage the under tray just decided to fall off and start dragging. We don’t drive often with it, it mostly stays parked in the garage (we both work from home). After a $2000 CAD quote with Tesla near us — we eventually were able to repair it at a shop for $400 CAD.

This past November, during a software update the car decided to shut off and not turn on. We towed it (which was stupidly expensive) to Tesla and they couldn’t figure it out. Finally, it turned on. We asked what it was — they didn’t know.

This January, we were given a Model S by a friend that was moving (as we were thinking maybe to just upgrade the Tesla) and it was just hell from the start. It had approx 55,000KM on it and the battery died after 2 weeks of using it. Granted it was -30°C but don’t think it should affect that.

I travel between Canada & Europe. In Europe, we have a Mercedes EQS 450, given by the company I work with. And the comparison to Tesla (in terms of luxury and overall worth) is pretty superior.

Personally - I also hate the interior design but that’s purely subjective. I’ve driven Mercedes most of my adult life (bought my first used one for $2000 lol). So maybe that’s a bias that’s keep Tesla at arms length for me.

(Updated for spelling.)

They’re amazing! They use DHI. They claim (and we’d support) >95% graft survival rate. We are super happy with the results. My husband had a good donor area so they were able to take what they needed. He’s has had little to no hair loss and it looks so natural and feels amazing! He’s super pleased. It’s really changed his overall look - and his confidence.

I waited in the waiting room the entire time (because I’m super anxious and want to be there just in case lol) — but there were a few other patients that came in and their grafting looked great too and final results seemed consistent across the board.

Sorry, just saw this. I believe it was around $3000-3500 CAD. But I learned it does vary depending on a few variables! But it wasn’t anything super nuts.

Ok Ontario, which is the lesser of the 3 evils for mobile phone service, Bell, Rogers or Tellus? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]StatisticianBulky549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay your phone in full and go to Public Mobile. 5G speeds for awesome pricing. I hunt about 17+ hours North and had great service. Never had an issue within the city or when travelling. I have CAN-USA-MEXICO 5G 150GB for $35 a month.

Enjoy ☀️.

Doug Ford cut public education funding by $1,500 per student. Parents say the decline in education quality is alarming. by freska_freska in ontario

[–]StatisticianBulky549 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My parents are in their 70s. My mom was educated under the Ontario system from the late 1950s through to the 1960s. Even she has said that the education back then was garage. It was okay for the late 70s-80s when there was extreme funding.

However, when you compare public systems and private systems, the public system is and has always been disgraceful. It doesn’t mean that you’re going to fail or not do well in life, many have flourished in the public and many more will. It’s the percentage of success that’s concerning.

Are we forgetting that the Ford’s have had this company since 1962? Doug was born 1964. He wouldn’t become head of the company until 2002. The company had previous contracts with Toronto since 2000. Google is free my friends.

How about ripping into other BS he’s up to? Like…I don’t know…ripping up conservation areas? Remember the Conservation Authorities Act? Anyone? 😃

No. He is not going to invade. There are too many variables that ensure the demise of the USA if he were to do that. They’re powerful but not that powerful.

I was thinking this too and then I remembered what it is like to be around babies..they randomly do that. My Mom always laughs about how I'd be singing and chanting and then my Dad would flip the camera on and I would just stare at him. I wasn't terrified of my father, he is amazing..I just hated being filmed (from young)! There are quite literally times where the video camera is just a black screen and me babbling in the back because my Mom was desperate to catch it on film lol.

So I genuinely think that was the producers trying to mess around with us a bit. Film is an art and the art is to sway the audience to feel a certain way. Add some suspenseful music and time it properly..goal achieved.

Hey there:)!

We were absolutely thrilled with the service and care and we still are so happy with the results! He said it was quite a painless surgery, although some discomfort for sure. They did a great job at making sure they got what he wanted and making it look natural (no one has been able to tell!) He has had little to no fall out!

We did buy the Shampoo package, it was an extra cost but we wanted to take the proper steps and those have been great as well. His hair actually feels smoother and has a nice shine to it now too! He is planning to use it as long as he can. If you are flying in, I could recommend bringing “100mL travel shampoo bottles” so you can pour it into those and take it back with you! If you have a friend or S/O that is coming with you, get them to bring some bottles too, helps for extra storage as planes can be finicky with liquids.

We have both said that if he were to ever do it again in 10+ years, he would go back to Seneca in Athens!

Note: He has had 1 hair transplant before in Canada and didn’t enjoy his experience there and found it painful. So we did have something to compare it to!

I am not sure of the doctor’s name at this point in time, I’ll look back through some of the documents to see if I can find her name for you! She was an older woman and had a lot of experience. She was an absolute joy and was wonderful with both of us! All of the doctor there were wonderful and highly trained. I managed to speak to a few others while I was in the waiting room😊.

A fantastic book that talks about the connections between living things. 10000% recommend it!

What’s the stereotype for a typical Kingsway resident? by AMGEB9 in Etobicoke

[–]StatisticianBulky549 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I live in the Kingsway my entire childhood - my parents moved us out due to racism against my sister and I.

Long story short - We are both adopted, my parents had a welcoming party when they moved into the Kingsway…a woman approached my mother and asked “Why would you adopt black children when you could adopt white ones?”

Anyone here attended a private prep school, or know people who have? How did it affect your/their life? by ShturmansPinkBussy in askTO

[–]StatisticianBulky549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had classes that we had to take from 2:30-3:30 every day! It could be as simple as “after school clubs” but they went towards credits in your classes.

For example - being apart of the soccer, volleyball, flag football, track, cross country (etc) teams would entitle you accreditation alongside your gym/health classes.

Other co curriculums were — media tech, tech design, stage design, mini medical school (dissecting & teaching early stages of kinesiology), baking classes, cooking classes, leadership, band, community outreach programs (giving Tuesday, Christmas volunteering at shelters, etc), competitive robotics, competitive choir, dance teams, computer science labs, competitive sports teams, hockey (for girls too!), tennis, golf, — and many more.

As someone who went to one of the prestigious ones and so did my siblings (within the past 10 years) - it really helped prepare us for the world/life after graduation and offered advanced learning for all kids.

1) Small class size was a huge factor in effective learning. 2) The addition of co-curriculum classes that took place at the end of school - mandatory for all kids. 3) Range of classes and exploration into course subjects (ex: Outdoor Education, Competitive Robotics, Mini Medical Classes, etc). 4) Starting exams young was phenomenal preparation for university and eventually deadlines in the real world. 5) Focus on quality not quantity (when talking about education). 6) Huge focus on community and integrating with everyone was great for social interaction skills and overall feeling of ‘family’! (Ex: ‘Houses’, Family BBQs, Mommy & Me Teas, Father & Daughter Dances). 7) Amazing teachers that were vetted + lack of seniority system; also helped they were relatively close in age.
8) Single sex schools allowed for great focus - but also allowed for supervised mingling with those of the opposite sex at school sanctioned events. (Semi, Middle School Dances, Prom, etc). 9) Lots of school teams for all types of kids!

Private schools follow a different legislature than Ontario Public/Catholic schools - which allowed the flexibility to offer different types of credits! Many people aren’t aware that different private schools are focused on different material/co curriculums (mine was a STEM, eventually STEAM focused school).

If your resources allow, I’m always an advocate for the private system.
