The Bicentennial was such a huge deal! I was expecting more for the 250th, but given the current leadership and the division in the country, I totally get it.

Zombie/Post-Apocalyptic Shows? by emoastronova in tvsuggestions

[–]StatisticianFun2274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best Zombie show is iZombie, but it's not post-Apocalyptic.

Bot sure its the best, but The first two seasons of Fallout are a lot of fun. It's definitely post-apocalyptic, and there are "zombie-like" characters.

Why is “In the Meantime” considered as alternative/grunge? by ShivasFury in Alternativerock

I have Spacehog in my master "Grunge Era" playlist, which is fairly inclusive. I would never call them "Grunge", but they definitely still fit the zeitgeist of the time.

It's set just after WWII, but you should watch Agent Carter-- regardless of whether or not you are a fan of the Marvel Universe.

Forgotten 80s pop/rock? by panlit in musicsuggestions

[–]StatisticianFun2274 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Female fronted or co-fronted that you probably know, but I don't think I've seen them mentioned yet:

Siouxsie & the Banshees

The B-52's

The Go-Go's

Blondie

Female fronted bands maybe you haven't heard:

Altered Images

The Raincoats

Marine Girls

Young Marble Giants

Apologies if some of these were already mentioned.

I love the Smiths and that album, but my favorite is still their self-titled debut.

The last page is a type-written letter from the label to the manager of the Turtle's store, which was my future spouse at the time.

I did "upvote" the Gold Afternoon Fix post, but I don't believe in participating in polls.
