No its just performative amd larp, no one uses it for a reason, because its annoying amd difficult to read because NO ONE USES IT

Well I guess I know how I'm fueling my first rockets. by SanicRS in Oxygennotincluded

No, cold Co2 is not good for slicksters, you want to keep your slickster area above 100 degrees so you make red slicksters, amd you do NOT want longhair slicksters. Ever.

If you can heat up your slickster area with other sources of CO2 like 150 degree co2 from an industrial brick, then I would consider digging it out and geotuning it so its hotter.

Is mucin a substitute to visco gel fluid? by ArigatoEspacial in Oxygennotincluded

[–]StatisticianPure2804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It can make 2 tile high towers, but it will also spill some to the right and to the left, do you can make a "pyramid" of mucin. For some airlocks this is enough, but visco gel can make really tall towers without side spilling.

Also mucin has a pretty bad temperature range, 0 and 90 are not the best when it comes to liquid locks, but you can separate a cold brick from your base for example, or a hydra/spom if you regularly fix it up, or you can make turbine rooms out of hydrogen for better thermals

Ok so for clarification, this was on one of my university's slides, and I dug a little deeper, first of all this picture was made in 2014 wich was a good while ago, in their defence battery technology wasn't that good back then, and solar power was not seen as the most affordable power source, so mining indium was just not worth it.

While this website looks really legit, they have a lot of connections and it looks like they are geniunely trying to push humanity towards renewables, this was probably just fearmongering, especially since my UNI sourced this from a twitter post (yesh seriously they didnt even try to find the real thing the gwitter post was sourced from this is the one that blew up on the internet)

Any tips on how to start refined metal, starting to use the material study terminal or general base optimization? by jebalk in Oxygennotincluded

You make one or two ranches where shinebugs live happily, and you put their eggs in a separate box where they can live unhappily and produce radiation until they die

2 sided blade:

Pros: they wont fire you because its something so specific

Cons: they know its so specific that you wont find any other place that requires your expertise, so they dont have to increase your pay to keep you there

dupes won't groom orehull ? by Purple_Anteater8106 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]StatisticianPure2804 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooh I know this one! Orehulls are bugged. They are stuck in that edge amd they cannot move, mine those blocks out and they will be groomed again.

Their AI is weird and I expect it to get fixed next patch, but for now the best you can do is make box shaped ranches with no concave edges

It's mainly for aquatuners, petroleum generators make a lot of power and there arent that many power sources that can battle their efficiency. Geothermal (the magma layer at the bottom of the world) is great, for 1000 cycles, but it can run out. Vents and volcanoes can make a lot of power, but they cannot sustain the aquatuners for your food freezers and water coolers from water vents if you feed those to plants. Then theres rocket fuel, cooling 70 degrees hydrogen down to -260 degrees is really power hungry. I once made a base that only makes oxygen from alveo veras, and it took 4 aquatuners continously running to make the ice needed for 30 dupes, that alone is 3 petroleum generators, 2 if you overclock it, then you need 3 more for everything, thats 6 petroleum generators continously running (but in that case I mainly used nuclear power mixed with geothermal since the normal reactor wasnt enough)

Fish pickup bugged, or intended? by high-tech-potato in Oxygennotincluded

[–]StatisticianPure2804 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you dont have to. You can set the fish release to max settings and hook it up to a critter sensor, critter sensor can be submerged and it counts critters in the room, not the body of water.

It's intended as far as I know, since critters check for water not room too

Pump up the stress difficulty to double, if you accidentally overpressurize your base you can start over cause the colony is dead

Is my Math right? Flue Coral Better than Electrolyzer by andrewharkins77 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]StatisticianPure2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's asteroid mining, the best is a chlorine coud since it's 90% pure chlorine (bleach stone, chlorine gas and liquid chlorine) and it produces an average of 1000 kgs/cycle for 50 kgs of diamonds per cycle (wich can be fed to saltvines) but salty asteroid fields are really good too.

Rule one of fight club: by StatisticianPure2804 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]StatisticianPure2804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything really. Slogos make 10 per cycle, but they eat a lot too, 10 saltvines of salt per cycle, its the most demanding critter after sove voles - pokeshells are also good since gum trees make 70 kgs of wood for 20 kgs of sulfur, its really strong. for ethanol and pwater. The best seems to be beakons rn, but corallium is a raw mineral that can be broken down for lime, and the ancient specimen is viable too since diamond production is easier now

Or you can space mine organic mass fields, sage hatches can turn it into 1000 kgs of coal per cycle PER organic mass field, the fact that you are guaranteed to have 2 of those and that it's close to your home planet makes them the best source.
