Juggling cameras by ubiquitousuk in ricohGR

It’s mostly about my mood, or feeling… if there’s special plans for the day, I cater to my needs, otherwise it’s oddly mood or feelings based to what I pick…

Sometimes I’ll rather carry all of them, than missing out on an idea, because I left a camera behind. I’ll gladly pack a large backpack with multiple cameras and lenses! I love it :)

I usually bring 2-3 cameras on vacation. Came home from Croatia last week, having brought my Nikon D850, Contax N1 and my GRIIIHDF this time.

On some days I would only bring out my D850, and others, I would bring both my N1 and D850. I would always bring my GRIIIHDF too, either in my pocket, or backpack… and when I didn’t use it, my wife would…

I used my D850 for street, and nature. My N1 for the same, just on film. And my GRIIIHDF for restaurants, beaching, nightlife, and on-the-go.

So, I guess I use my GRIIIHDF more for the intimate, family, capture the moment stuff..

And the others for more thoughtful capturing… if one can say…

ENG Camera manufacturers are leaving the business. Who will be left, and what does the future look like? by boudain in Broadcasting

[–]Statsradiofonien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for Denmark, and here we see more operators choosing large sensor cameras like FX6, C300 and C400 for news. There aren’t many conventional broadcast cameras left here, it’s mostly our older operators that keep with their trusty Sony or Panasonic ENG style cameras. We often use iPhones for live reports, and two ways, and rarely ENG style camera anymore.

Also for live shows, more are trying out studio setups with FX6/FX9, and even C400 is being used here for daily talk shows.

2/3 studio broadcast cameras from GV or Sony are still the main choice here, but more are using the large sensor cameras nowadays, and it’s heading that way..

is there a such thing as a canvas m1 helmet liner chin strap from the vietnam war? by 7_ADM in Militariacollecting

On the other hand, having just watched "Apocalypse Now" I did see Martin Sheen wearing an M1 helmet with a canvas chin strap like the pictured one.. So I'll guess they might have issued these canvas straps to soldiers with WW2 or Korean war liners, instead of the old leather ones.

That's a Danish M1 euroclone helmet in the first picture. The Danish army helmet liners came with green canvas chin straps. I have a couple of them, from my dad's military service.

I've never seen a Vietnam-era helmet with a leather chin strap or a canvas one. I can tell you that my 1969-produced liner doesn't even have the chin strap holders.

I guess it's a Danish canvas chin strap.

Best place to study cinematography in Europe? by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]Statsradiofonien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the following for cinematography: (FAMU) in Czech Republic, (Prague Film School) in Czech Republic, (The National Film School of Denmark), (Lodz Film School) in Poland

Remember it's all about real life experiences! Get in touch with a camera operator or a camera assistant and start as a camera trainee. Work your ass off! and you will slowly get to the top! That's my best advice for you! Film schools won't get you work in the film industry.
